2 In this module, you will become familiar with the software installations required to set up the Xtrinsic ISF development environment. Upon completion, all required software will be installed and your development PC will be prepared for developing, installing, and executing ISF user applications. 2

3 To complete this module, you will need a Windows 7 PC meeting the following minimum requirements: Pentium 4 or newer 4 GB of RAM 2 USB ports (1.0, 2.0, or 3.0) The PC must have an internet connection. 3

4 To set up the ISF user application development environment for the FXLC95000 intelligent sensing framework, three software components must be installed on the developer PC by following the instructions in this training module. 1. CodeWarrior 10.5 or newer (with inherent ColdFire support) 2. FSL_MQX_3.7_FXLC95K 3. ISF 1.1 Note: These installations require a Freescale login ID and acceptance of a software license for each package. For the purposes of this training, an evaluation copy of CodeWarrior is all that is required. 4

5 support The first software installation is CodeWarrior 10.5 or newer with ColdFire support. If installing CodeWarrior 10.5 for the first time, complete the following steps. 1. If you have not downloaded the CodeWarrior 10.5 installer file, download it. A link is available on the Xtrinsic ISF product page (freescale.com/isf). 2. Run the CodeWarrior 10.5 installer file. 3. Follow the setup wizard instructions. When asked to select components to install, check the ColdFire check box. If CodeWarrior 10.5 is already installed and the ColdFire component is not installed, complete the following steps. 1. Open CodeWarrior. 2. From the Help menu, select Install New Software, and then select ColdFire. You can tell if CodeWarrior is already installed on your system by going to the Windows Start Menu and looking under All Programs for Freescale CodeWarrior. 5

6 The final installation required is the ISF 1.1. Go to the page of the Freescale Xtrinsic ISF website and click on Download the latest version. In the pop up window, click on the download and follow the installation instructions in the install wizard. 6

7 Checkpoint: The best way to locate the documentation is to go to the Microsoft Start Icon and look for the shortcuts under All Programs\Freescale\Documentation. The Documentation folder contains a copy of the ISF API Reference Manual, Software Reference Manual, Release Notes, Installation Instructions, Fact Sheets, etc. 7

8 Checkpoint: ISF on your system should have the following directory structure Documentation contains a subset of the information from the previous slide. Example Applications contains CodeWarrior Projects that can be used as example projects. ISF contains the libraries for the ISF components and the sensor adapters. Prebuilt Applications contains S19 files that can be easily loaded and run on a KITFXLC95000EVM system. Training contains these training modules. 8

9 Checkpoint: The Example Applications folder contains all of the CodeWarrior example projects supported at the time of the release. Do not be alarmed if your installation has more than what is shown here. Your installation should have at least what is shown here. 9
