1 Helpful reference information Power on your XR3000 and press to display the weighing screen. The key will always take you to the weighing screen The key will take you back one screen The scroll keys ( and ) move between screen fields The key displays or selects field options The 1 and 0 keys enable ( ) or disable ( ) options STEP 1: Name a file a. Press b. Scroll to an empty FILE NAME slot c. Type the required file name, press twice Recommendation: Your file name should reflect the herd/flock, mob and date for easy reference e.g. PTPT Steers M STEP 2: Select Damp System and Weight Recording option a. Press then b. Press on the DAMP SYSTEM field c. If you are weighing cattle select Superdamp III (Cattle), for sheep or deer select Superdamp III (Sheep) d. Press Note: If you re only weighing cattle with your XR3000, this option will stay on Superdamp III (Cattle), so you won t need to set this up every time you use the XR3000.

2 STEP 2: Select Damp System and Weight Recording option continued... Recommendation: When recording weights, the XR3000 gives you the flexibility of manual or automatic weight recording. Until you re familiar with the weigh crate and stock flow (which can affect the hands off time required during automatic weight recording), we recommend using manual recording. a. Press then b. Scroll to WEIGHT RECORDING and press c. Select MANUAL, press STEP 3: Setting up the weighing screen All data fields that you have already entered data into should be displayed on the left hand side (LHS) (For Viewing) of the weighing screen and ONLY fields that you are wishing to enter data into should remain on the right hand side (RHS) (For Data Entry). To enable data entry fields for viewing: a. Press b. For each data entry field that you want to enable for viewing: i. Scroll to the field on the LHS ii. Press, select and press c. Repeat Step b until all data entry fields required for viewing are enabled This will result in a weighing screen similar to this:

3 weighing STEP 4: Connect MINDA to the XR3000 a. Ensure that you have followed the set up process as outlined in Setting up XR3000 to work with MINDA b. Ensure that you have installed the Tru-Test weighscale integration program from your MINDA installation CD c. Connect the XR3000 to the PC: Serial cable use Comport 1 on XR3000 (should be factory setting) and appropriate comport on PC Bluetooth use manufacturer instructions to pair PC and XR3000 (Note: Passkey = default ) (Fig.1) Select Files / Import/Export / Send data to Tru Test d. Ensure the XR3000 is switched on e. Open your MINDA software f. Select File / Import/Export / Send data to Tru Test (Fig.1) g. The screen shown in Fig.2 will appear when MINDA and the XR3000 are connected h. Select Export to send the lifedata for all the current animals in your herd / flock to the XR3000 Note: You will need to repeat this step when new animals are added to your herd / flock. The progress bar shown in Fig.3 will appear as records are being processed (Fig.2) MINDA and the XR3000 are connected (Fig.3) Records are being processed i. At completion of the data transfer, the screen shown in Fig.4 will appear j. Press Exit to close the Weigh Scale integration program (Fig.4) Completion of the data transfer

4 STEP 5: Start recording Liveweights As each tag is read the screen will come up with the animal s pre-entered details, as shown in the example opposite: At any stage you can record the weight by pressing (see opposite). A message is displayed to indicate that the animal s weight has been recorded (see opposite). Note: If automatic weight recording is enabled, the animal s weight will be recorded as soon as the tag has been read and the animal is stable.

5 weighing STEP 6: Send Liveweights to MINDA a. Ensure that you have followed the set up process as outlined in Setting up XR3000 to work with MINDA b. Ensure that you have installed the Tru-Test weighscale integration program from your MINDA installation CD c. Connect the XR3000 to the PC Serial cable use Comport 1 on XR3000 (should be factory setting) and appropriate comport on PC Bluetooth use manufacturer instructions to pair PC and XR3000 (Note: Passkey = default ) (Fig.1) Files / Import/Export / Get Weights from TruTest d. Ensure the XR3000 is switched on e. Open your MINDA software Recommendation: Synchronise any outstanding unsent events f. Select Files / Import/Export / Get Weights from TruTest (Fig.1) (Fig.2) All weigh sessions on your scale indicator g. The screen shown in Fig.2 will appear in your MINDA software, showing all the weigh sessions on your scale indicator h. Select the weigh session that has the liveweights you want to load into MINDA, Press IMPORT (Fig.3) i. At completion of the load, the message shown in Fig.4 will appear at the bottom of the screen (Fig.3) Select the weigh session that has the liveweights you want to load into MINDA j. Press Exit to close the weighscale integration program. This will create unsent liveweight events in your MINDA software Recommendation: Synchronise unsent events as soon as possible (Fig.4) Completion of the weigh session load

6 Helpful HintS Watch for the prompt message (bottom of left of screen) this will take you through the weighing process: Load Platform > Press > Weight Recorded. The list of weights can be viewed in the screen and will remain in weighing order until sorted. The statistics for the file can be viewed in the screen. This will give you the Count, Average Weight, Total Weight, Min Weight, Max Weight and Standard Deviation (you have to scroll to the right to view it all). Need more help?
