3 Proposed new SOAS Professional and Support Services structure Notes This chart presents the proposed new organisational structure for SOAS operational and strategic management effective from There would be eight Directorates each led by a Director The Head of Planning would report to the Deputy Registrar: Planning and Finance Proposed reporting line for the Head of Learning, Innovation and Quality Department to be decided at end of consultation process The Director of Business Development would report to the new Director of Research and Enterprise From 1 March 2009, the posts of Librarian, IT and MIS report to the new post of Director of Information Services and Learning Support In terms of academic leadership, the Pro-Director Research and Enterprise has lead responsibility for the Research Strategy and a clear link to the Research and Enterprise Directorate in terms of Academic leadership and for professional support and guidance The Vice-Principal has lead responsibility for the Academic and Student Experiences Strategies and a clear link to the Student and Registry Services Directorate and the Information Services and Learning Support Directorate in terms of Academic leadership and for professional support and guidance The increased responsibilities requirements for the post of Director of Estates and Facilities will be job evaluated shortly The Directorate is shown as effective from 1 March 2009 with the addition of the (Employee Relations) post; the post of (Change) is approved by EB only until 31 July 2009 but is required after that date to help deliver the Strategy re Change The new post of interim Director of Research and Enterprise is currently filled on an interim basis by Professor Graham Holderness of Oakley Consulting. The appointment is funded by HEIF4 money. The post will be advertised and filled on a competitive basis by Spring The eight strategies supporting 2016: A Vision and Strategy for the Centennial are: - Academic Strategy - Research Strategy - Student Experience Strategy - Financial Strategy - External Relations Strategy - Strategy - Estates and Infrastructure Strategy - Information and Internal Communications Strategy
