6 6 FANUC PROVIDES THE TRAINING YOU NEED, WHEN YOU NEED IT Mission The mission of the Training Department is to provide formal training solutions for our customer base, both internal and external. This training will primarily support our standard robot product line, and can include systems designed and supported by FANUC America. In addition, Foreign Languages, Instructor Support, Train-the-Trainer Program (TTT), Customized Product Training, Web Based Training Programs, and Distributor Training Programs to assist with the training development of our customers' resources are available. Capabilities FANUC America main training facility resides within our World Headquarters in Rochester Hills, Michigan. This facility trains over 4500 students per year. Our staff of over 25 professional technical trainers, with the assistance of instructional designers, technical writers, and computer based training designers, is ready to support all our customers' training needs. Our state-of-the-art training facilities include: Eight classrooms 22,000 square feet of training laboratory Over 45 robots to ensure maximum hands-on training opportunity. Training can also be executed in most of our regional offices to include: Cincinnati and Holland, Ohio; Charlotte, North Carolina; Chicago, Illinois and Lake Forest, California. We at FANUC set high standards for our training facility at Rochester Hills, as we understand the importance of properly planned and equipped classrooms and laboratories in order to achieve optimal results in terms of well-trained, capable students. We work to ensure that training is conducted in an effective manner, and in an environment conducive to learning. Students are dedicated only to FANUC training for the duration of the training period. Student to robot ratio is kept low, the maximum recommended ratio of students to robot being 4:1. Students receive all necessary equipment and tools for use during hands on training. Students receive reference and training documentation as part of the training fee. On-Site Training FANUC America offers both Product classes and System classes at customer sites. This provides the following advantages: Savings in Travel Dedicated customized classes When training is to be conducted at a customer facility, we strive to ensure that the environment provided is safe and conducive to learning. However, it is the customer's responsibility to ensure compliance with all statutes relating to workplace safety. We know you also will want to ensure optimal results and safety, and we have detailed below some of the key aspects necessary for a successful program at your facility. If you have questions on these or any additional areas, please do not hesitate to contact us. The quantity of robots and equipment needed for training will be established prior to training, (and can be specified separately in the body of the quotation). These units will be dedicated to training for the duration of the course and will be located away from the production area. Execution of on-site training programs may involve development charges. Please review the training brochure on this web site or the specific course description to determine if these charges are applicable to your on-site selection. NOTE: The customer assumes responsibility for any damage to robots caused by students during on-site training.

7 1-888-FANUC-US 7 General Information Method of Delivery for our courses: All of the courses described in this brochure consist of lectures, demonstrations and a series of lab exercises designed to reinforce what the students have learned, including all required and recommended safety procedures. In addition to these lab exercises, a pre-test and post-test are used to measure mastery of objectives. Records and Transcripts: All records are kept for at least seven years. Training records may be obtained by sending a letter or to our address, which includes the following information: student name, address, company, course name and course dates. A $10 processing fee must accompany request. Make checks payable to FANUC Robotics America.. Confidentiality: Students training records, including course materials, test scores, attendance records and evaluations, may be shared to ensure compliance with, by way of example, curriculum or continuing education requests, grant and tuition programs or other related requirements. Prerequisites: FANUC requires attendance in prerequisite classes prior to attending our specialized and advanced classes. Experienced students who may have worked for many years with our robots but who have not had formal training may feel they do not need to attend a basic class. Please review this brochure carefully or visit our website at to review prerequisites for selected courses. FAC will allow to test out of prerequisite courses. Please call to inquire. Grievances FANUC America Corporation abides by P.A. 148 which governs propriety schools. Students who want to file a complaint with the State of Michigan may do so at Filming: FANUC does not permit trainees to film, record, videotape or photograph any and all training sessions. Dress Code: Appropriate dress required. Please no shorts, tank tops or open toe shoes. Safety shoes are required for all Mechanical classes. Job Placement: FANUC is not a placement center. 5BTraining Cancellations/Rescheduling/Payment not be subject to a refund. All tuition and fees paid by the applicant shall be refunded if the applicant is rejected by the school before enrollment. An applicant fee of not more than $25 may be retained by the school if the applicant is denied. All tuition and fees paid by the applicant shall be refunded if requested within three business days after signing a contract with the school. All refunds shall be returned within 30 days. Once the 3 business days have elapsed, the following policies will apply. Rescheduling of a registration is done at no charge if FANUC is notified in writing at least two weeks prior to the start of the training. The full fee will be charged for cancellation notices received within two weeks of the scheduled training and a training voucher valued at 70% of the training price will be issued upon cancellation. This voucher will be valid for a period of 6 months. Any work material issued and used in classes may not be reproduced either in whole or in part. All software used in classes is the property of FANUC and may not be copied or reproduced. If this stipulation is infringed, we reserve the right to exclude the person concerned from the class and to take further legal action. The documentation issued serves informative purposes; it is based on the current state of technical development and does not include documentation updates. Liability FANUC America is not liable for loss or theft of property brought into the training rooms, especially clothing and valuables. 1) Know the Controller model you require for training. 2) Know the Robot Model. 10 10 FANUC PROVIDES THE TRAINING YOU NEED, WHEN YOU NEED IT Training Policies Governing Bodies OWNER AND OPERATOR OF SCHOOL: FANUC AMERICA CORPORATION Registration Student registration is based on a first come basis. Enrollment may be accepted up to the start of the class provided there are available seats. All students must be 18 years of age or older. Attendance Policy While attending class, all attendees must wear a FANUC student badge which is provided. Students who do not attend a minimum of 75% of class time may be removed from the class. Students removed from a class due to absenteeism who wish to obtain a certificate of completion must reenroll at the full tuition rate. Grading Policy All classes are given Pre and Post tests which are designed to evaluate attendees knowledge of the course. Pre tests are provided and graded as a measuring tool for our instructors to determine prior knowledge of the material. Pre tests scores are not part of the attendees transcript. Post tests are graded and a passing grade of 80% is required to obtain a certificate of achievement. Students who do not meet FANUC America s grading policy may be asked not to participate in future course offerings. Acceptance into future courses will be reviewed by the training manager on a case by case basis. Students will receive a certificate of achievement for all courses for which they enroll and meet all requirements for passing. Code of Conduct FANUC America (FRA) expects all of its students to be treated with dignity, their rights respected and their privacy maintained. FRA is committed to equal opportunity in the conduct of all of its business activities. FRA will not tolerate harassment of any kind nor any discrimination forbidden by law including that involving race, religion, national origin, color, disability, veteran status, marital status, age, sex, pregnancy, height, weight or any other protected status. Any student, who believes he or she has been subjected to discrimination or harassment, or has observed another students being subjected to discrimination or harassment, must report that fact immediately to the Training department manager. Reports will be investigated and remedial action, up to and including immediate discharge, will be undertaken as appropriate Re-admission: Students dismissed due to conduct, must obtain training manager s approval for re-admission. Previous Education and Training Credits earned at other institutions are not transferrable toward obtaining a FANUC American training certification.

12 12 FANUC PROVIDES THE TRAINING YOU NEED, WHEN YOU NEED IT University & Schools Certified Education Robot Training (CERT) (for qualified educational facilities only) Training hours: 54 The Certified Education Robot Training (CERT) program is a new certification available to qualified high schools, community colleges, and universities. The program certifies instructors at educational institutions to train their students to program FANUC robots. To accompany the CERT program, an eligible school can purchase a new innovative educational tooling package that includes an industrial robot, integrated vision system, programmable logic controller and ROBOGUIDE simulation software. With this package, students can learn the fundamentals through advanced engineering and manufacturing concepts. Students will utilize the same robots and software that are used in industry. Schools can use the new package to integrate robot training into their programs and initiatives. 13 1-888-FANUC-US 13 Course Descriptions Robot Operations 16 Hours (1.5 CEU), Class Code: J2P0305 Course Description: This course is intended for the person who operates or may be required to perform maintenance on a System R-J and higher Controller with standard application software package. It covers the tasks and procedures needed to reach the course goals with both classroom instruction and hands-on training. The course does not address the set-up and operation of specific software features and options. Safely power up the robot from a complete shutdown Manipulate the robot using the teach pendant Setup and test robot movement parameters for a given work cell and torch Setup ArcTool for specific weld applications Create and test weld programs for a given weld task Edit weld programs in teach mode Setup and save to file management devices anipulate I/O in program logic and real logic Master and calibrate the robot Recommended safety procedures are integrated into all training exercises The course consists of lectures, demonstrations, and a series of lab exercises designed to reinforce what the student has learned. Power up and Jog the Robot Recover from common program and robot faults Execute production operations Set up paint parameters (FF,AA,FA,ES) Create, modify and execute teach pendant processes and jobs Backup and restore individual programs and files The course consists of lectures, demonstrations, and a series of lab exercises designed to reinforce what the student has learned. In addition to lab exercises, a pre-test and post-test are used to measure mastery of objectives. Prerequisites: None

Power up and Jog the Robot Recover from common program and robot faults Execute production operations Create, modify and execute a Dispensing program Backup and restore individual programs and files Recommended safety procedures are integrated into all training exercises. The course consists of lectures, demonstrations, and a series of lab exercises designed to reinforce what the student has learned. In addition to lab exercises, a pre-test and post-test are used to measure mastery of objectives. Prerequisites: None

19 1-888-FANUC-US 19 PalletTool Setup & Programming 32 Hours (3.75 CEU), Class Code: ADV0710T Course Description: This course makes use of FANUC PalletPRO 3D robot palletizing simulation software. The instructional activities included in this course provide procedures for creating a PalletPRO virtual workcell and downloading data to the robot. PalletTool Turbo, a variant of PalletTool, will be used for high speed palletizing. This course does not cover basic robot operations or HandlingTool programming. Create a new workcell using PalletPRO Edit the virtual robot properties Add palletizing instruction to TP programs Specify and fine tune the best path for your robot to take when palletizing Modify Utool values for various grippers Use pallet offset information Enable alternate return paths (clear/diag return) Stack with labels out and flipped layers Set up Ethernet communications between the robot and a PC The course consists of lectures, demonstrations, and a series of lab exercises designed to reinforce what the student has learned. 20 20 FANUC PROVIDES THE TRAINING YOU NEED, WHEN YOU NEED IT Advanced TPP Programming 40 Hours (3.75 CEU), Class Code: ADVTPP Course Description Advanced programming is the next step after an Operation and Programming class. Topics from the previous classes will be used in this class to develop a more complex scenario. Students will be given a hypothetical example workcell. Then they will be given the task of creating all the necessary programs to deal with multifaceted issues using Advanced Programming techniques. Understand Frame manipulation related to programming issues Understand advanced program control structures Develop programs with a language independent model Coding of programs using advanced programming techniques Set up Multi - Tasking operations Create Condition Monitors Design methods for Error Trapping/Recovery In addition to lab exercises, a pre-test and post-test are used to measure mastery of objectives. 21 1-888-FANUC-US 21 KAREL Programming 16 Hours (1.5 CEU), Class Code: KAREL101 Course Description This course covers the fundamentals of the KAREL programming language. Instruction includes TPP & KAREL programming techniques and how they work together. The course is not an in-depth KAREL programming course, and is focused on the interpretation of existing code rather than development of application programs. This course covers both TPP and KAREL languages. Create and update KAREL & TPP programs Compile and load a KAREL file Test, run and execute programs in the HandlingPRO software Concepts covered in this course include language syntax, branching constructs, system variables, simple KAREL logic, I/O and recommended safety procedures The course consists of lectures, demonstrations, and a series of exercises designed to reinforce what the student has learned. There is no KAREL motion programming in this course In addition to lab exercises, a pre-test and post-test are used to measure mastery of objectives. 22 22 FANUC PROVIDES THE TRAINING YOU NEED, WHEN YOU NEED IT Dual Check Safety (DCS) V7.50 & Newer Setup and Operations 16 Hours (1.5 CEU), Class Code: DCS Course Description: This course covers the tasks a technician, programmer or engineer would need to accomplish in order to set up and use FANUC s Dual Check Safety (DCS) software. This class is specific to robots with version 7.5 and newer software Set up and Modify DCS General parameters Set up and Modify DCS Position / Speed Check parameters Set up and Modify DCS Safe I/O parameters The course consists of lectures, demonstrations, and a series of lab exercises designed to reinforce what the student has learned. In addition to lab exercises, a pre-test and post-test are used to measure mastery of objectives. Prerequisites: Completion of an Operation & Programming class.

23 1-888-FANUC-US 23 V-iRVision Operation and Programming - 2D 16 Hours (1.5 CEU), Class Code: irvision-2d-r30ia 16 Hours (1.5 CEU), Class Code: irvision-2d-r30ib Course Description: Upon successful completion of this course, the student can identify the components of a vision system, install vision hardware, develop an application, program the robot, perform error recovery procedures and follow recommended safety practices. More specifically this course covers the basic tasks and procedures required for an operator, technician, engineer or programmer to set up, teaches, test, and modify irvision applications on an R-30iA or R-30iB Robot Controller. 2D - R-30iA Power up and Jog the Robot Set up communication between robot and teaching computer Set up and calibrate the camera Teach a vision process (stationary camera) Teach a vision process (robot mounted camera) TPP programming Troubleshooting 2D - R-30iB View and/or change robot and computer parameters to facilitate access to the robot s web page Setup a camera Perform an inspection vision process Understand basic vision concepts and lighting Master a robot using vision mastering Create tool frame for the robot applicator Create user frames necessary for use with the vision system Calibrate a camera Setup a 2D single-view vision process Program the robot to respond to vision results Recommended safety procedures are integrated into all training exercises. In addition to presentations and demonstrations, this course offers a series of lab exercises for the student to complete. Lab exercises relate directly to the classroom presentations and are intended to reinforce what the student has learned through actual hands-on experience. In addition to lab exercises, a pre-test and post-test are used to measure mastery of objectives. Prerequisites: Completion of HandlingTool Programming,or HandlingTool Features and Options. The vision courses do not teach basic Robot Operations.
