25 Windows Azure referencer - Mamut Mamut chose the Windows Azure platform in part because it offers a relational database in Microsoft SQL Azure. Mamut also believes that because Windows Azure is a development platform, partners will be able to collaborate on new applications and go to market together. The company s first foray into cloud computing is Mamut Online Backup, a solution that keeps the user s most important files and folders automatically encrypted and protected at all times. Mamut Online Backup uses Blob Storage in SQL Azure to store an encrypted backup of a customer s on-premises relational database. Mamut plans to charge customers a flat monthly fee for a specific amount of storage, with an incremental cost for each additional gigabyte. Page 25
