1 Quick Course Equivalency List UMKC General Education Overview Graduation Plan - Courses and Critical Benchmarks The following is a sample course of study. It is the student s responsibility to ensure that all program requirements are met. This guide is not a substitute for academic advisement. All students must develop an academic plan (which maps out all courses needed to graduate within your intended major/degree) with their academic counselor. This Transfer Major Map is based on the MCC degree in place during the catalog year. UMKC recommends that students earn the certified 42 Hour Block or Degree in order to satisfy the majority of UMKC s General Education Core requirements. If students do not earn the certified 42 Hour Block or Associate s Degree before starting at UMKC, they will be responsible for completing all remaining UMKC General Education Core requirements. Your path to graduation may vary slightly based on factors such as college credit you earned while in high school, transfer work from other institutions of higher learning and placement in Mathematics. You are responsible for checking prerequisites to any courses. Critical courses and minimum recommended grades provide feedback regarding major fit and help indicate likelihood of successful completion of chosen academic program and degree. For Political Science courses, only courses in which a grade of C- or better is earned will count toward the major. Complete 12 term hours minimum toward degree.
