The unit removes a scrambled channel, allows for descrambling, and facilitates the reinsertion of the same channel to the cable feed. The device splits the incoming signal selectively deleting only the desired channel from the cable feed. It then utilizes an adjacent channel bandpass filter to permit a clean insertion of the reprocessed channel back onto the cable system. All RF connections are internal to the unit with no additional wiring or power requirements, permitting easy and quick installation. Features: Clean insertion of new information Passband to 550 MHz Factory wired for quick installation Low insertion loss Dimensions: 19" L x 1.75" H x 13" D (rack mount) Connectors: Type F Applications: MDU, motel, hotel, school, hospital and business Removal of selected channel Television reprocessing Passbands MHz Return Loss...15 db Typical (Channel)

6 Single TV Channel Reprocessing Network MDN MDN Series The MDN network removes a selected channel from the incoming CATV feed so it can be reprocessed and added back on line. This is done at the entry to a multiple-dwelling unit (MDU), a motel, hotel, school, hospital or business. The reprocessing can consist of batch descrambling, scrambling, channel conversion or a combination of these. MDN networks incorporate a channel deletion filter corresponding to the channel to be reprocessed and an adjacent channel bandpass filter. These filters delete the old channel information and insure clean insertion of new information, respectively. All MDN units are delivered fully wired except for scramblers, descramblers and converters. 10 "Brickwall" Lowpass & Highpass Filters 10 MHz Description: The 6211LP/HP are a series of lowpass and highpass filters that are factory assembled networks, consisting of channel deletion filters and custom designed lowpass and highpass filters. The combination results in a "brickwall" filter eliminating blocks of channels while preserving adjacent channels of interest. The primary applications include deleting blocks of channels for re-insertion purposes, while maintaining the integrity of close adjacent channels. These networks allow for maximum use of existing cable spectrum. The operating temperature for the 6211 series is from 13 O C to 33 O C. Typical frequency response of 6211LP Any interface channel (2-116) may be customer specified. 6211LP/HP Band Edge Stopband Channels Insertion Loss (Max) Rejection (Typ) 2 to db 55 db 37 to db 55 db 54 to db 55 db 77 to db 55 db 81 to db 55 db 6211LP or 6211HP Baseplate Dimensions: 19" x 7" (up to channel 54) 19" x 10.5" (channels 55 and higher) Connectors: 75 ohm - Type "F" Other impedances and connectors can be supplied to order Note: In many cases these filter assemblies can be installed in 1 or 2 (RU) rack chassis configurations. 10 MHz Typical frequency response of 6211HP Lowpass 6211LP - XX/YY XX = Highest channel passed YY = First channel in stopband Highpass 6211HP - XX/YY XX = Highest channel in stopband YY = Lowest channel passed

11 Digital (QAM) "Brickwall" Lowpass & Highpass Filters 10 MHz Model 19128L Lowpass Series Model 19128H Highpass Series These filter series consist of a combination of brickwall channel deletion components and lowpass (or highpass) components. Each combination results in a brickwall lowpass (or highpass) filter assembly for adjacent QAM channel operation. Typical frequency response of 19128L The primary application is to delete an existing group of contiguous channel programs for the purpose of reinserting new programming (i.e. cameras, educational programming, etc.), while preserving adjacent QAM channel programming L or 19128H Available Channels:... 12 Special Deletion Networks Contiguous & Non-contiguous Multichannel Deletion Filters 10 MHz 7964 (Contiguous) Series Filter networks for suppressing an arbitrary number of contiguous channels are supplied to order. For only a few channels, a series connection of individual channel deletion filters is used. For a large number of contiguous channels, a special network is used. It's components consist of a "Brickwall" lowpass and highpass filter and a pair of specially designed bandsplitters. For an intermediate number of contiguous channels, two single channel deletion filters establish the "Brickwall" ends while a less selective network deletes the middle of the specified stopband. Available for channels Typical frequency response of 7964 Rejection: 55 db (typical) video-to-aural carrier Loss at carriers adjacent to deleted channels: 5-7 db (typical) Specifications vary depending upon the number of channels being deleted and their frequencies Baseplate dimensions: varies based on number of channels being deleted Connectors: 75 ohm - Type "F" Other impedances and connectors can be supplied to order Note: In many cases these filter assemblies can be installed in 1 or 2 (RU) rack chassis configurations. Typical 7964 & 6971 configuration 7964-XX/YY (Upper Passband) XX - First channel to be deleted YY - Last channel to be deleted (Upper Passband) - Highest frequency to be passed 6971 (Non-Contiguous) Series When channels are scattered in the TV spectrum, individual channel deletion filters are connected in series. Where two or more of the channels cluster together, contiguous techniques are used to minimize the number of single channel deletion filters. 5 MHz Typical frequency response of 6971 Rejection: 55 db (typical) video-to-aural carrier Loss at carriers adjacent to deleted channels: 5-7 db (typical) Specifications vary depending upon the number of channels being deleted and their frequencies Baseplate dimensions: varies based on number of channels being deleted Connectors: 75 ohm - Type "F" Other impedances and connectors can be supplied to order 6971(N)-XX/YY/ZZ (Upper Passband) N - Number of channels to be deleted XX/YY/ZZ - Designates channels to be deleted (An unlimited number of channels can be deleted) (Upper Passband) - Highest frequency to be passed

13 QAM Multi-Channel Deletion Filter Networks Series (Contiguous) Multi-Channel Deletion Network Deletes a block of consecutive QAM channels - for the purpose of reinserting new programming within that block - without disrupting adjacent QAM (or analog) channels performance. Each deletion network is comprised of highly-versatile filter components. This versatility results in deletion networks that use less filter components to delete X number of channels vs. other multi-channel deletion networks on the market that consist of "daisy-chained" X number of single channel deletion filters. Typical 5-Channel Configuration Main advantages of using less filter components: Less cost to the customer. Superior performance - due to less component interaction. (i.e.- Better Group Delay, Flatness, etc.) Other features: Preserves all other QAM (or analog) channels from (5-1000) MHz. Available in any number of contiguous channel configurations. Single Panel Mount - Suitable for rack, wall or table installation. Fast Turnaround - Typically available to ship within 1 week ARO. Product Nomenclature: Model XX/YY XX = First deleted channel / YY = Last deleted channel If you need to delete two or more non-contiguous QAM channels, ask about our Series multi-channel deletion filter networks.
