2 WHAT IS WORKFORCE MANAGEMENT? Workforce management is the utilization of a system to maintain a productive and engaged workforce by optimizing the balance of customer, employee, organizational, and regulatory needs. This means managing employees effectively through scheduling, time and attendance, absence management, payroll, forecasting. Workforce management blends together both qualitative and quantitative data to improve your decision making and planning with analytics and human factor data. Usually a workforce management solution is computerized and can also provide reporting. WHAT IS SUCCESSFUL WORKFORCE MANAGEMENT? Successful workforce management is managing that critical alignment between workforce activities and how they support your organization s business goals effectively.
