BANKING SYSTEM: functions, evolution, factors of development, structure, models of banking system, establishment of two-tier banking system in Poland, banking sector as a part of financial system. 2. TWO-TIER BANKING SYSTEM: Central Bank: objectives, functions, areas of activity, monetary policy; other banks: objectives, functions, areas of activity, banking models, types of commercial banks, banks services and products, conditions for banks establishment in Poland. 3. BANKING SERVICES Liabilities: deposit services classification, saving deposits, issue of debt securities, cash and cash equivalents, types of term deposits, segments, deposits and interest rates of interbank market; Assets: loans and credits, banking credit regulations, characteristic of banking credits and loans, credit price, credit calculation; Payment services: types and functions of banking accounts, payment services and settlements, payment systems, banking account agreement, domestic and foreign payment instruments. 4. BANK AS A FINANCIAL INSTITUTION: Assets and liabilities management; Banking marketing: essence, elements and character of banks marketing, marketing research, market segmentation, traditional and electronic distribution channels; Banking risks and supervision: types of banking risks, instruments of risk management, capital adequacy, objectives and functions of banking supervision, models of banking supervision. INSURANCE 1. FUNDAMENTALS OF INSURANCE: legal and financial definition of insurance, functions of insurance, role of insurance from the society and from the economy point of view. 2. ORGANISATION OF INSURANCE MARKET: insurance products, insurance company, types of policyholders, insurance intermediary, law regulation of the insurance market; 3. INSURANCE COMPANY AS A FINANCIAL INSTITUTION: reserves and investments, assets and liabilities management, legal constraints; 4. ROLE OF INSURANCE COMPANIES IN THE GLOBAL FLOW OF FUNDS reinsurance mechanisms (traditional and alternative solutions); COLLECTIVE INVESTMENT FUNDS AND PENSION FUNDS 1. FUNDAMENTALS OF COLLECTIVE INVESTMENT: rationale for collective investment, role of pension funds and investment funds in the economy; 2. CLASSIFICATION AND ORGANISATION OF INVESTMENT FUNDS AND PENSION FUNDS: types of collective investment funds, organisation and activity of investment funds and pension funds in Poland and selected countries, special forms of investment funds: hedge funds, ETFs, REITs; 3.
