3 Introduction Initiate a Cause is a new way to find, fund, & volunteer for local causes, nationwide. Technology Initiate a Cause is hosted by HostGator on an Apache Web Server with cpanel. The backend software used at this time is Drupal version If the developer prefers to use another software platform such as Wordpress, or even a custom built application, then we will need more information on the backend functionality and scalability.

4 New User Registration At this time the new user registration page works. We would like to make the following adjustments (outlined in the screen capture) to simplify and automate the new user registration:

5 Creating a new Cause At this time the page for creating a new cause is very lengthy and complex. We would like to reduce the size of the page by utilizing the white space and removing unnecessary elements. Please see the below screen capture as an example:

6 WePay Integration WePay needs to be integrated to distribute funds to three (3) parties. This includes the builtin WePay fees, 5% to the Initiate A Cause WePay account, and the remaining balance to the creator s WePay account. WePay s API Platform is available here: Creating Accounts for Users When a new user signs up for an account on Initiate a Cause, they can get started with creating new causes. If the cause does not require any donations (volunteer), then the user does not need to create a wepay account. If the user creates a cause which will collect online donations, then they will need to authorize wepay. The user will see the following screen (example) where they will then need to either register or login a wepay account: Documentation on how to create wepay accounts directly from Initiate a Cause is available here: Accepting Donations When visitors or members want to contribute to a cause, they may use their Credit Card directly from the Initiate a Cause web site (example):

7 During the donation process, the user should see a secure url in the address bar (e.g. / including the SSL Certificate information. Jonathan Kingsbury will manage settings up and installing the GeoTrust SSL Certificate. Instructions on how to configure the checkout object is available here: Charging Application Fees As indicated in the introduction, there will be 3 types of fees: Initiate a Cause Fee - 5% WePay Fees Creator of the Cause - Remaining % The application fee parameters are available here:

8 Administrative Settings We expect management to have the capabilities to adjust the wepay settings as well as view admin reports. WePay Settings Our previous developer had configured a new module named WePay Settings. This does store the weplay client id, wepay client secret, as well as the master access token and wepay fee amount of 5%. The developer may make adjustments if needed and/or re-use the existing code. Reports It would be convenient to have typical reports such as: Today s registrations Today s donations/yesterday s donations Ability to search donations by date-range WePay fees collected Total Causes (donation + volunteers) Total Donation Causes Total Volunteer Causes etc. User Management There will be likely a need to modify any user(s) registered with IAC. We should have the ability to view current wepay settings of the particular user, this way we can manually override information to correct inaccurate data.

9 Development Expectations The site needs to be browser compatible. This includes firefox, IE, safari, and chrome. WePay supports the use of iframes, however we prefer that the developer uses the WePay API for the best overall experience. We will provide a static-ip and GeoTrust SSL Certificate. At this time the software choice is Drupal, but we re open to other alternatives. User registration should be made simple. We would be interested in giving the users the capability to login with their Twitter, LinkedIn, or Facebook accounts. When adding a cause, the form is very complex. If we can keep it simple by including the following fields, that would be great: Cause Name* Cause Type Accept Donations Donations Needed Volunteers Volunteers Needed Both Donations Needed Volunteers Needed End Date Image Location (State City) Description Submit Button Once the user hits the submit button, they will be redirected to their cause. The user can then view/edit the cause if necessary. All published causes should be visible on the home-page of InitiateaCause.com
