6 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 1 SECTION 1 INTRODUCTION TeleEye III+ Video Transmitter (VT) is specially designed for TCP/IP accessible remote video monitoring system so as to achieve real-time transmission. It allows user to dial to a remote site and monitors the activities there. On the whole, VT is designed to work with ISDN terminal adapters to form a remote monitoring system. The users can select units from a wide range of manufacturers to suit their applications. TeleEye III+ Video Recording Transmitter (VRT) is a versatile video transmitter with built-in hard drive for local recording and remote video monitoring. Triplex operation with video monitoring, recording and playback can be performed simultaneously. With its state-of-the-art video compression technology and powerful remote accessibility, VRT/VT can achieve real time video refreshing rate up to 25/30 fps on broadband Internet access while the maximum refreshing rate on PSTN is 20 fps. Our proprietary surelink technology makes the VRT/VT possible to connect the Internet through ADSL with dynamic IP address. Other communication media like LAN, ISDN and mobile network are also supported. VRT is your best remote video monitoring and recording solution for unmanned premises like car park or ATM centre. Event-driven recording can be triggered by sensor or motion detection and you can retrieve the video through searching by event, location, date or time. Other versatile features include programmable recording, alarm dial-back, telemetry control, etc. Introduction

7 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 2 About the Reception Software TeleEye III+ Reception Software is a Windows 95 / 98 / ME / NT / 2000 / XP application program (IBM compatible PC). It implements the system controls as well as image decoding of the TeleEye III+ Transmitter. The compressed data are decoded and displayed through the PC monitor. You can select the desirable video source, resolution and quality from the graphical user interface. The received images can also be stored in the hard disk for future references. In addition, it provides alarm features and pan/tilt/zoom control of the cameras. Introduction

8 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 3 SECTION 2 INSTALLATION TeleEye III+ Reception Software runs on Pentium, and compatible PC with Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP environment. What You Have Your TeleEye III+ software package contains: Software: Documentation: WRS3-AD CD-ROM. This User Guide is provided with the software package. Minimum System Requirement Pentium III 866 MHz Windows 95, 98, ME, NT,2000 or XP Operating System 128MB RAM Supports 800 x bit true colour or 16-bit High Colour Network Card Switches for intranet connection Serial Port CD-ROM drive Modem (V bps / 33600bps preferred) or ISDN terminal adaptor Camera with BNC head ( it is recommended to use line lock camera ) Software Installation Before setting up TeleEye III+ Reception Software, please change the video setting to 800 x 600 true color or 16-bit high color in Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP s Display Properties. For simplicity, TeleEye III+ Reception Software is an auto-run program. You only have to insert the CD to your CD-ROM, and then follow the simple procedure; you can have your software installed. 9 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 4 Procedure: 1. Insert the Program CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. The CD- ROM will run setup automatically. 2. Click Install Reception Software to install the viewer program 3. Follow the on-screen instruction to install the program. 4. Remember to reboot your computer after installation. Before You Connect Before communications with the remote site using TCP/IP, you should have these in mind: Make sure you have configured the TCP/IP settings. Make sure you have connected the network port properly. Meanwhile, you should have installed the suitable driver. Make sure your network card work properly. For modem application, don t miss the following points: Modem must be properly installed in the PC. Make sure that the correct modem driver is installed. Details about the modem software/hardware installation please consult the modem manual. Make sure that a working telephone line is attached to the modem, and if you are using an external modem, make sure it is powered and turned on. Starting Tele Eye III+ Reception Software Make sure you video setting of Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000 environment is 800 x 600 true color or 800 x bit High Color. Steps to start Tele Eye III+ Reception Software: click on the Start button on the taskbar, then choose Programs > TeleEye III+ > TeleEye III+ WRS3-AD. Installation

11 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 6 Transmitter Registration (if needed) In case the administrator has enabled the Registration Checking function of the transmitter, you should register it before connecting to the remote site. This can be done under the Transmitter menu. You will be asked to register the software when you first time use it. The record will be stored in your hard disk. Installation

13 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 8 You have 3 methods to connect to the transmitter, direct serial port, Internet or dial up using modem. Different connection method may have different field chosen in Connect Using and Phone/IP fields. In the Location field, enter a name to represent the remote site field. The Ref. Code field is optional Internet/Intranet Connection When you want to make a TCP/IP connection, you need to provide a domain name (Only available when you have applied for surelink Technology service) or an IP address of the remote site transmitter. Next step, select the connection device in Connect Using drop-down menu as TCP/IP. Direct Serial port Connection You can choose Direct to COM if your transmitter is attached locally to the computer by a null modem cable. Modem dial-up Connection If you connect to the remote site using dial-up, you have to enter the phone number in Phone/IP field. Select the modem driver you are using from Connect Using. If you are using an Internal Telephone System (PABX) that requires to dial a number to gain the outside line, enter the number in the Dialing Prefix field. Once the phone number is issued, the modem will start negotiation. In general, it takes 30 seconds or more and it depends on the connection baud rate and the telephone line conditions. Finally, you are required to enter the password of the remote site transmitter for validation. For quick dialling, you may select the connection using the Phone Book. Table 3.1 may help you to choose the appropriate Connect Using item for different connection devices. Otherwise, error message, UNREGISTERED TRANSMITTER will occur even if your password is correct. Please refer to Transmitter Registration (if needed) for details. Disconnecting the Remote Site You may disconnect the connection by selecting Disconnect on the Connections menu or clicking the Disconnect button. Disconnect Icon Auto Redial This feature enables the TeleEye III+ Reception Software to redial to the remote site automatically in case of line busy or loss of connection. Steps: Connections > Auto Redial Making Connection

15 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 10 Auto Disconnect The Auto Disconnect function allows the user to define the time after which the program will automatically disconnect with the transmitter. For IDD calls, click Add to include the prefix of the phone number so that only the calls with the specified prefix are automatically disconnected after the specified time. Steps: Connections > Auto Disconnect Alarm Auto Dial-back When TeleEye III+ Reception Software is in standby mode, it is ready to receive alarm call initiated by the transmitter. As an alarm is triggered in the remote site, the transmitter will automatically dial back to the control center. Images of the associated cameras of the alarm will be captured, stored and then sent to the control center. Therefore, the user can monitor the remote site and the alarm will be stored in a log file immediately. The system will start video recording automatically as well. Steps: Connections > Alarm Standby Alarm Standby Making Connection

16 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 11 When enabling Standby mode, it will prompt for selecting standby device. User can specify a device to standby or use the connection device to standby in the previous connection. Note: Only the images from the associate camera of the triggered alarm that initiating autodial-back will be received. In case of unsuccessful remote login, or if the control center is busy, the transmitter will try to dial again after the preset redial duration. This action is repeated until the control center answers the call or the transmitter is reset. Within the redialing period, the transmitter is able to answer incoming call. When an alarm is triggered, the transmitter will automatically dial back to the control center based on the control center information. Please refer to Information in Section 4, Transmitter Setup. Connection Log The Connection Log file records the connection history including the date, time, location and status. Steps: Connections > Connection Log Making Connection

Steps: Patrol > Scheduler The schedules programmed will be displayed. Auto Run: Run: Stop: New: Delete: Properties: Run Scheduler automatically when the software starts up. Start Scheduler manually. You may select a site from the phone book by clicking Phone Book Auto Connect: Connect to the remote site as TeleEye III+ Reception software starts up. Schedule: Pre-defined connection given by the start time and stop time. Continuous: Continuous connection for a specified duration of time. Stop: Stop the scheduler or automatic connection. NOTE : - Stop mode is designed for Continuous mode only. - Never setup Stop and Schedule modes together in the program or no schedule can be performed. - The scheduler takes reference to the computer s time and date. Make sure they are correctly set in the computer. Details Select the display mode and the cameras, and enable or disable PC recording. Making Connection

19 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 14 Owner Validation 4 TRANSMITTER SETUP For security purpose, you are required to key in the administrator password of the transmitter before changing its settings. (e.g. Data/Time, Camera Source etc.) Transmitter Information Setup Initial Setup You should first follow the instructions in the Transmitter Installation Guide to configure and set up the unit properly before carrying on the advanced set-up procedures below. Note that the following procedures are optional while there are some additional features available to the transmitter. You can configure them once you need. Advanced Setup (1) SECTION You can modify the information for your transmitter. The information includes the name and the phone number or IP Address. Select Information under the Transmitter menu. In the Information dialog box, you can find the name of your transmitter and its Phone number, IP Address, serial number, model and version. Transmittion Unit Setup

20 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 15 Advanced Setup (2) When an active alarm is triggered, the transmitter will automatically dial back to the computer based on the control centre information. You can modify the information in the Information dialog box under the Alarm Dialback item of Alarm under Event menu. (You have to connect to the remote site transmitter first.) Again, for the protection reason, you have to provide the administrator password. The Information dialog box contains the location and the phone number of the remote site, and the control centre phone numbers to be connected to. Redial duration (0 to 255 seconds) is the retry interval in case of busy or dropped line. Transmittion Unit Setup

21 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 16 Transmitter Information Alarm Center Information Three connection options can be used for dial back: Null-modem, Phone line and TCP/IP connection. The format of the phone input strings determines the dial back connection. N or n : Phone No.: IP Addr.: The character N or n is used to inform the transmitter to choose the Null-modem connection for dial back. Valid phone number such as must be entered to inform the transmitter to choose the Phone-line connection for dial back. Valid IP address of such as must be entered to inform the transmitter to choose the TCP/IP connection for dial back. Note: You may use one or mixed connection methods in a transmitter. However, you must enter the remote information for Location and Phone of the site, and at least one of the 4 Phone fields of the Control Centre Information. Otherwise, no redial can be performed when alarm alert. You have to set Redial Duration, such that once all the connection phone number (including N ) can t be reached, after the Redial Duration, redial from the first entry of Phone will be performed. 22 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 17 WARNING Please set up the control center information properly before clicking Installed on the Alarm Sensor menu. Improper settings of such information will cause unpredictable results. Changing Date / Time We integrate a wonderful feature to VRT/VT/VX to maintain the accuracy of date/time. User can enable the function Time Synchronization to synchronise his VRT/VT/VX with any Time Server. The Time Server listing can be found at Another way is to use the built-in real-time clock in VRT/VT/VX. You may adjust the date and time according to the remote site. Steps: Transmitter > Date/Time Transmittion Unit Setup

23 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 18 Enable Time Synchronization Check this box to activate the time synchronization of VRT/VT/VX with defined Time Server. Before use, you should provide URL of the Time Server to be used in Primary Time Server and Secondary Time Server. The built-in real time clock of transmitter will be disabled if this checkbox is checked. Time Zone You can either choose Time Zone or Custom Time Zone for synchronization. The usage of + sign and - is dealt to the difference when it is Winter or Summer. Previous Status and Date/Time: Last updated time is shown here. After the transmitter is re-boot, it will be cleared too. Current Status and Date/Time It shows the information of last update time within an hour. Transmittion Unit Setup

24 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 19 Transmitter Password If you want to change the password of the transmitter, you are required to make the connection first with the transmitter. Then on the Transmitter menu choose Transmitter Password. There are two options: Administrator and User. Choose it carefully to make any changes. Steps: Transmitter > Transmitter Password > Administrator/User Note that only alphanumeric characters are allowed to use as passwords Transmittion Unit Setup

25 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 20 Connection Speed The Connection Speed value represents the maximum speed (baud rate) allowed for data transmission at the transmitter s modem port. The factory setting of the transmitter baud rate is 38400bps. This is adjusted for use by a 33.6kbps modem. If the modem uses a different speed (e.g. 56kbps) or ISDN modem, the transmitter baud rate can be altered to regulate the transmission performance. Steps: Transmitter > Connection Speed The baud rate of the transmitter varies from 2400bps to bps. Typically, 38400bps are set for a 33.6k modem, 57600bps are set for a 56k modem or 64k ISDN line and bps is set for leased line connection or 128k ISDN line. To confirm the setting, click OK. A message is displayed to acknowledge the user that the setting is saved in the transmitter. The new connection speed is set and stored in the transmitter. You may now disconnect the link and reconnect to the transmitter using a new connection speed. Transmittion Unit Setup

26 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 21 Answer Ring Count You can configure the transmitter to receive calls after a specified number of rings. Steps: Transmitter > Answer Ring Count Throughput Control The bandwidth used for transmission should be well controlled so as to avoid from collision and to control bandwidth consumption. A special feature of transmitter, Throughput Control, let user limit the bandwidth share for the transmission with other network sources usage. Steps: Transmitter > Throughput Control The ratio for throughput control varies from 9.6kbps to 5Mbps. Transmittion Unit Setup

27 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 22 Camera Setting You can set the name and status of each video source. The video source can be set to either B/W or COLOR, installed or not. If the password is correct, Camera Sources setting box will display for you to change the camera settings. Camera source Camera existence Camera name Video type Note: B/W images are transmitted 30% faster than colour ones. Video Resolution The transmitter can support two sets of video resolutions. There are six different resolutions in total. When the transmitter is configured in Quality mode, the resolutions available are 160x120, 320x240 and 640x480 pixels. When in Speed mode, the resolutions are 128x96, 256x192 and 512x384 pixels. In different mode, the display interface layout for video image will be different in order to fit for the image size. Each alarm can associate up to 16 video sources 2. 30 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 25 Installed Don t forget to check this box to activate the alarm sensor after you have made some changes to it. Name User can give a meaningful name (max characters space = 10) to the alarm sensor for easier memorisation. Type It can be either normal open or normal close. Associate Camera Each alarm can associate up to 16 cameras 3. 31 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 26 Options When alarm is triggered, siren and video recording will switch on automatically and switch off after a preset period of time. Alarm Password You may change the alarm password. Note that only alphanumeric characters are allowed to use as the passwords. Alarm Log All valid alarms will be recorded in the alarm log. User can make use of location, phone number or time to filter out your desired alarm information. Besides, all the alarm information can be printed out for reference. Transmittion Unit Setup

33 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 28 Event Handler When your VRT/VT/VX is triggered by some events such as alarm triggered, motion detection, video loss, disk full or system failure, you can be alerted through a powerful built-in function of VRT/VT/VX, Event Handler. You can also predefine some actions to deal with different event accordingly. Actions to be taken include recording, switch control, dial back and notification (in VX model, action includes buzzer as well) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) 1) Event All the included events are shown here. The defined options are Alarm, Motion (VRT/VX only), Video loss, Disk Full (VRT/VX only) and System Failure (VRT/VX only). 2) Event Handler Settings You can find the brief description of each individual event. You may click the description to access the settings page. 3) Reload Click this button allows you to reload the settings from your VRT/VT/VX if you have made some changes to the settings but want to resume to its original settings. For VRT/VX, only duration for recording for alarm triggered will be set. 5) Ok Button for save and exit the settings window. 6) Default Button for exit the window and leave all the settings unchanged. 7) Apply Click this button to save the changes made and keep the window opening. 35 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 30 Alarm Event Settings You can find information about the alarm settings in the front page of Alarm Event Settings, such as number of sensor (No.), the names of the sensors (Sensor Name), the status whether it is Installed, Associate Cameras, and status of Recording, Switch, Dial back and . You can double click the individual row to enter its setting page. Sensors Settings You can modify the alarm sensors settings by clicking this button. Remember to click Apply or OK to save the changes. Please refer to the previous section about Alarm Settings. Transmittion Unit Setup

36 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 31 Action to be taken If you click the individual sensor, you can set the action for VRT/VT to take when it is triggered. Actions include recording, switch control, dial back and notification. Recording ( VRT/VX only ) After the alarm sensor has been trigger, you can activate the recording either in type of Continuous or Frame Basis. Duration selections for continuous recording are 10sec, 20sec, 30sec, 1min, 5min, 10min, 30min, 45min and 60min. If you choose Frame Basis, then the number you set for recording will be the number of duration in seconds for recording as it is frame per second. Sensor name Note that in case all cameras are associated with its sensors (i.e. Camera 1 with Sensor 1, Camera 2 with sensor 2 etc), and the pre-defined recording duration is 1 minute continuously. There are two typical cases: 1) Sensor 2 is triggered to have recording while at the same time that camera is being recorded, as a result there will be an overlapping period that both Camera 1 and Camera 2 are recorded. Total time for these two events will equal to or less than 2 minutes, however, individually, there would be 1 minute of recording on Camera 1 and 1 minute of recording on Camera 2. 2) The same sensor is triggered while the associated camera video is being recorded due to the event trigger, the new 1-minute recording will be append to the end of the previous recording time, e.g. there is 30 seconds recording when the second event trigger, so totally there will be 1 minute and 30 seconds recording. 37 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 32 Switch Switch control is another action VT/VRT/VX can take when event triggered. In this page, you can activate the switch control by checking the box Enable Switch Control and the individual switch check box. You can view the status of the switch settings such as the type of switch and its initial state. The type of switches can either be Latching or Push. It is advised to configure initial button setting before used. You can do so by clicking the Switches! Don t forget to check individual camera Settings. Note: this switch control setting will be set to VRT/VT/VX only but not affect the settings in the Reception Software. 38 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 33 Dial Back In this page, you can find the telephone numbers for dial back. You can modify them in the option of Dial Back Settings. When the alarm is triggered, VT/VRT/VX will attempt to dial to the telephone number in the first entry to acknowledge the user. If it fails to inform, it will try the second entry, and third and so on. Once the event triggered happens, all the defined recipients will receive an acknowledge . In case that event happens within 15 minutes after the previous event, no duplicate will be sent to those recipients. However, if the current event happens 15 minutes after the previous event, then notify will be sent again. Motion Event Settings (VRT/VX only) VRT/VX allows you to enable video recording when motion is detected. Maximum 16 cameras are able for motion driven recording. In the front page shown below, you can find the information such as number of camera installed, the names of the cameras, the status whether it is installed and whether Motion Detection is applied to it, the degree of the Sensitivity it uses to detect and status of Recording, Switch, Dial back and .. Enable Cameras When you see the following page, you can select the camera(s) to have this recording by checking the camera number in Enabled Cameras. A fast button Enable All and Disable All is for convenient usage. Select Blocks S refers to Select while D refers to Deselect. For selecting the detect region, you should first click S, then use your mouse to drag on the image. You can select the blocks anywhere on the image. The selected blocks will become red for notification. You can also click Select All to activate all the blocks on the image to take effect. Clear All allows you to clear all the selected blocks and re-select the blocks again. You can immediately see the change in the selected block when motion triggered. Deselected blocks Individual Camera Sensitivity & Recording Duration There are three preset levels, Low, Medium and High, of sensitivity for convenient use. Light Sensitivity is a threshold to determines when the block is changed. The higher it was set, the more sensitive to the change. Area indicates in how many percentage of the motion in the block triggered will be considered as a change. When the percentage is low, that means, a bit change to the image block will be considered as a trigger. In other words, when the Area is set to be high percentage, a small change in the image block will not be considered as a motion trigger. The user can also define his/her perference value for Light Sensitivity and Area percentage by choosing Custom Transmittion Unit Setup

VRT/VX has a hard drive capacity detection function. When the usage of the hard drive is reached to the defined-warning level, it can give out some indicator to let the user know. Actions to be taken are switch control, dial back and notification. Please refer to the alarm alert setting page for details. Disk Usage Settings User can set the warning level that the hard drive reach to get the notification. The selected range is from 50% to 80% with every 10% increment. Click in Arm / Disarm under Event menu. In the Arm/Disarm menu, check the Enable Arm / Disarm Function to enable sensor input 1 as an arm/disarm switch. Then select the event Association of the arm/disarm function, ie. If select alarm sensor, when the system is disarmed, it will ignore the alarm sensor events. 51 TeleEye III+ Reception Software User Guide PAGE 46 Telemetry Device It is allowed to save the information about the telemetry used in the Transmitter, the advantage given is that you do not have to memorize or select the telemetry information in every connection. Bit Rate: You can define the transmission speed to be used at the transmitter aux port. There are 5 allowable speeds, ranging from 2400 bps (bit per second) to bps. Choose one that matches your transmitter aux port device. Flow Control Enable: You can enable or disable the flow control of the transmission channel. If it is checked, the RTS/CTS signal pins are required at both computer aux port (see next section) and transmitter aux port. Computer Aux Port The computer aux port is the serial port of the PC that has TeleEye III+ Reception Software installed (i.e. the reception station). It is used when a data transmission link is to be established across the reception station and the transmitter. In other words, data transmission occurs between the computer aux port device and the transmitter aux port device. The reception station and the transmitter act as two transparent devices allowing bi-directional data transmission. Transmittion Unit Setup

The button will be held down. To cancel the auto-pan function, click the button again. When auto pan is enabled, manual pan will be disabled. Some speed dome cameras do not support the Auto-pan function. In this case the button, when pressed, takes no operation. Environmental Control: The Washer and Wiper buttons switch on the washer and wiper, respectively, in the remote camera house. Special Controls: Recall Preset The Recall Preset tab has 16 numeric buttons, the number of accesiable preset location depends on the setting of the camera. The camera view goes to the preset location when the button is clicked. Program Preset The Program Preset tab(s) is/are used to configure the desired direction and lens settings as the pre-defined position(s). Again, the number of the location acessiable depends on the factory configuration of the camera. Recall Patrol The Recall Patrol tab has 4 Patrol buttons, which are used to activate the patrol tours of the selected camera model. When the button is clicked, the camera starts the tour until the patrol operation is cancelled. The Stop Patrol button is used to cancel the current patrol operation. Edit Patrol The Edit Patrol tab has 16 numeric buttons, which can be used to associate preset points with patrol tour. The Add and Delete buttons are used to add or delete preset points in the patrol tour. Aux The 10 auxiliary buttons in the Aux tab allow the user to customise the camera operation to meet special requirement. The first 5 buttons (Aux 1 to Aux 5) are momentary buttons, while the rests (Aux 6 to Aux 10) are latch buttons. To add commands to the auxiliary buttons, the alteration of the Command Table is involved. Therefore it is recommended to advance users only. Control and Status

It is used to define the holding periods of the telemetry, environmental and auxiliary functions. The Command Table defines the exact command codes for controlling the telemetry, environmental, preset and patrol operations for the selected camera model. You should not attempt to alter the command codes unless you are familiar with the control protocol of the specific camera model. The Command Tables are saved as.ptz files in the program directory. When you click the OK button, any changes you make are automatically saved. The Delete button deletes the selected entry. The New button is clicked to create a blank entry. The Save As button allows you to save the command table as a new file. Click the Load button when you want to load a command table from a file. All changes will be updated when you click OK. Select NTSC or PAL option and then click OK to change the video format. Transmitter Recording (for VT only) (Transmitter recording information is only valid when alarm event occurred during alarm standby mode) TeleEye III+ Transmitter is capable to record pre-alarm and post-alarm video frames in standby mode. It records four pre-alarm frames and about one-minute duration of post-alarm frames. The transmitter records pre-alarm frames while monitoring the alarm sensors. Once the alarm is triggered, the transmitter records post-alarm frames and dials back to the receiver. Setup the Transmitter Recording Make connection to the VT. Before enabling it, install and enable the alarm sensors, and fill in the transmitter information. For details, please refer to Alarm Auto Dial Back and Alarm Sensor Setting of the user guide. Pop up the Pre-Alarm Recording window. Check to enable transmitter recording. Select the pre-alarm recording camera number. Set the capture rate, which is the duration between each two pre-alarm video frames. Disconnect with the transmitter and enter in the standby mode. The transmitter now records the pre-alarm video frames. Control and Status

Manual download Alarm is triggered and transmitter starts dial back. The Transmitter Recording Indicator turns red to indicate that there is alarm-triggered video frames recorded in the transmitter. Pop up the Transmitter s Video Record window and click the Download button. The Transmitter Recording Indicator flashes during downloading. All the downloaded frames are recorded on the local computer. After downloading, the Alarm-triggered Recording Indicator will turn green. All information in the transmitter will be erased. 2. Depending on the different connection methods, different amount of hard disk spaces can be taken for specified time duration. You should have set the hard disk size for recording, you can do this in Settings. Steps: Recording -> PC Recording -> Settings SECTION (2) (1) (3) (4) (5) (6) 1. Drive: You must select at least one drive for recording. In fact, they are the hard disks of your computer. 2. Connection: Please select one of the connection methods you are using. Fixed: The recording will stop automatically when the recording disk space reaches its pre-defined spaces. The existed recording will not be rewritten. 5. The information contains Recordable Disk Space, Estimated Duration for recording, and Used Disk Space represented in %. If you click the button Delete All, all the recorded videos in the VRT/VX will be erased. 2. Disk Mode: Cyclic: The video will continue be recorded until manually stop and the existing contents of the first file will be overwritten when the disk space reaches its maximum. Fixed: The recording will stop automatically when the disk space reaches its maximum. The existed recording will not be rewritten. 3. Alarm Recording: You can activate the recording and set its duration for recording after alarm alert. 3b Pre Alarm Recording: You can activate the pre-alarm recording so that you can playback the 1-min continuous video recording before alarm alert. If you set 5.0sec, then the image encoded will be recorded in each 5-second interval, but not continuously. 5. Camera: You should select one or some camera(s) to take the action you stated. If you select CAM1, CAM4 and CAM7, for continuous recording, then, without your manually stop the recording, videos of CAM1, CAM4 and CAM7 will be recorded. 6. Recording Quality & Resolution: This is one of the powerful features in recording provided by VRT/VX. You can set the quality and resolution of the videos being recorded. There are five levels for Quality, and you can select either standard or high for the Resolution. 7. Audio Recording: If you have installed TeleEAR to VRT/VX, you can record one of the four audio channels. Note that audio channel will be locked during recording. You cannot hear voice from other audio channels. 8. User Password Protection: As the name given, you can have password protection for the recording settings, when it is set, you are required to provide password every time you want to change the setting. 9. Reload Settings: If you are not satisfied with the settings after a series of changes have been made, and you want to resume the setting to the previous one, Reload Settings can help you! Update: Every changes made to the VRT Recording Setting cannot take effect before you click Update. You can also change the gains of the remote microphones independently. Remote Public Addressing You can enable the transmission of your voice to the remote sites by clicking the Remote Public Addressing button on the audio control panel. You can disable the transmission by clicking this button again. The Volume Level Bar indicates the current volume level of your microphone. You can adjust the gain of the local microphone by sliding the Mic. Gain slider.
