5 6. LazrSPEED Multimode Fiber Solutions LC small form factor connectors engage and disengage easily with excellent optical and mechanical performance. SC push-pull style connectors are rugged and adaptable and reduce assembly time and training. Your enterprise LAN deployment may be 10Mb/s or 10Gb/s, but however you deploy, you need to support it with a multimode fi ber solution that meets or exceeds demanding industry standards. CommScope goes the distance Our fi ber solutions are guaranteed to deliver performance over distance based on combined connector and splice loss, rather than the less-precise method of using industry standard lengths. That opens up a whole new world of design fl exibility, as well as a choice of ST, SC or LC connectors to give your network the best possible performance characteristics. Measuring performance by loss Here s how the numbers shake out. Our LazrSPEED Solution guarantees transmission using 10G, 850nm and VCSEL technology up to distances of 150 meters, 300 meters and 550 meters respectively. This is determined by several factors and assumptions: Guaranteed distances assume a maximum combined connector and splice loss of 1.5 db, and cable attenuation of 3.5 db/km (for 62.5 micron) or 3.0 db/km (for 50 micron). All transmission distances include patch cord lengths. Additional connector and/or splice loss can be offset by shorter distances; likewise, reduced loss allows for greater distances. ST twist-lock style connectors maintain optical contact under load and help prevent accidental disconnects. We offer an extensive line of patch cords that maintain optical contact under load, reduce maintenance and ensure consistent optical performance. Stranded loose tube cables are available in all dielectric and armored versions with up to 288 fibers. Also available in Indoor/ Outdoor versions. Central tube cables are offered in armored and dielectric up to 96 fibers, arranged in color-coded12- fiber groups. Also available in Indoor/ Outdoor versions. 7. TeraSPEED Single-Mode Fiber Solutions Your network can take advantage of the full optical spectrum with one of CommScope s single-mode optical solutions. As the demand for bandwidth grows, the value of this advantage soon becomes clear. Forward thinking meets backward-compatible The Uniprise TeraSPEED Solution offers an exceptional combination of fl exibility, performance and affordability for the deployment of converged networks. With 18-channel course wave division multiplexing (CWDM) and enabling transmission in wavelengths from 1265nm to 1625nm, TeraSPEED yields up to 30% more usable spectrum. In short, it s designed to grow along with your capacity while remaining backward-compatible with existing single-mode networks. FiberGuard interlocking armored cable is available in aluminum interlocking armor, with overall jacket. Premises cables are engineered with excellent mechanical/optical performance and superior fire ratings, with diameter 30% smaller and weight 50% lighter than comparable products. We offer several fiber management shelves including splice, patch cord management, termination and combination shelves. We also offer shelves with pre-installed adapters / couplers. 5
6 8. Coaxial Cabling For sheer versatility, durability and resistance to electromagnetic interference, it s hard to beat coaxial cable. CommScope offers coax cabling options perfectly suited to enterprise applications from ordinary office networks to satellite uplinks and no one builds coax cable like CommScope. Buy from the best, work with the best CommScope s deep expertise in networks broadband, enterprise and wireless communications gives us better insight into which cable is best for a particular application. That s why we re the world s number-one provider of high-bandwidth cable, producing as much as a million feet a day to meet the demands of a data-hungry planet. We engineer every inch for maximum performance CommScope coax cable is manufactured to the strictest of engineering and quality standards that meet or exceed the safety standards given in the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC). We use premium materials in cable construction, including proprietary advances such as CommFlex jacketing, which improves performance and handling without compromising safety. This is why customers turn to CommScope as a trusted resource, partner and advisor for help in planning and deploying their networks across the globe. 9.
