1 Alcohol Ban Review Devonport-Takapuna Local Board RECORD OF HEARINGS Minutes of a meeting of the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board held in the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board Chamber, Takapuna Service Centre, Level 3, 1 The Strand, Takapuna on Tuesday, 1 September 2015 at 9.00am. Member Hale apologised for lateness. 3 Declaration of Interest There were no declarations of interest. 4 Suspension of Standing Orders Resolution number DT/2015/200 MOVED by Chairperson JM Bergin, seconded by Member JRK O'Connor: That the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board Alcohol Ban Review panel: a) temporarily suspends the following Standing Orders for the duration of this meeting in accordance with Standing Order in order to facilitate the ability of the hearing panel to hear and consider submissions from members of the public on the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board alcohol ban review: i Duration of meetings and time limits ii. iii. iv major items not on the agenda Minor items not on the agenda Deputations and Presentations v Petitions vi Requests for reports b) notes that for the avoidance of doubt, submitters to the alcohol ban review will be allowed to address the panel when considering item 10 on the agenda. 4 10 Hearing and deliberation report for the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board alcohol ban review 2015 Resolution number DT/2015/201 MOVED by Chairperson JM Bergin, seconded by Member AP Roe: That the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board alcohol ban review panel: a) receives the summary of submissions report. b) receives the submissions. c) hears the submitters who wish to be heard in support of their submission. CARRIED The Chairperson invited the first submitter to begin. Member Hale arrived at 9.22am. 10, 11 Fay Freeman Fay Freeman was in attendance to speak to her submission. 66 Takapuna Beach Business Association Terry Holt from the Takapuna Beach Business Association was in attendance to speak to the submission. 86, 87, 96 Takapuna Sands Owners Committee/ ED & EF Jenkins Family Trusts Evan Jenkin and Barry Wilson from the Takapuna Sands Owners Committee/ ED & EF Jenkins Family Trusts were in attendance to speak to the submission. 88, 90 Sandra Allen and Jill Schroder Sandra Allen and Jill Schroder were in attendance to speak to their submissions Ron Batty Ron Batty was in attendance to speak to his submission. A document in support of Ron s submission was provided (Attachment A). A copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment Milford Residents Association Norma Bott from the Milford Residents Association tabled a document to support her submission (Attachment B).
