4 Sealing and insulating applications in industrial furnace manufacturing Carburising, case-hardening and carbonitriding as well as inert gas hardening, annealing and galvanising the heat treatment and finishing processes in industrial furnace manufacturing are the acid test for our gasket and insulation materials and our expansion joints. Whether aluminium, non-ferrous metals, ceramics, glass or steel are involved: during heat treatment in tunnel, shaft, batch, pusher, pit or circulation furnaces, in ore processing or in cracking furnaces, materials are required that keep cool even when the temperatures reach 1100 C or higher. 6 Stoves and radiators for residential applications Living room heating systems vary widely, as everyone knows.
