Most of her research efforts focus in symptom epidemiology and supportive/transitional cancer care of pediatrics and adolescents, adults, and older people. Prof Cheng has expertise in a range of research methodologies, including quantitative, qualitative and epidemiology methods. In addition, she has established a number of international and national research collaborations in supportive cancer care including City of Hope Medical Center (USA), Hospital for Sick Children (Canada) etc. Prof Cheng has published in many major international scientific journals with high impact factors such as Cancer (IF 5.201), Critical Reviews in Oncology/Haematology (IF 4.637), and the European Journal of Cancer (F 5.061), etc. She has supervised many graduate research students and has been the internal/external examiner for many PhD dissertations.
