13 RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT As part of research activities DimikIT has developed several prototype software and hardware, including: Drive Test application Digital water meter Mobile financial services University ERP DRIVE TEST APPLICATION Telecom operators put lots of resources in Drive Tests to address client complains, to troubleshoot and to integrate new sites. DimikIT has developed a solution which poses to be a significantly cost effective alternative to Drive Tests. At the center of the product are mobile applications which can run on handheld consumer mobile devices, log necessary network performance indices and send the data to server-end in real-time so that telecom operators can analyze data and take decisions. DIGITAL WATER METER DimikIT has developed a prototype digital water meter. It features the following: Automatic digital reading on the usage of water. There is no way that a meter reader can fabricate the reading. Data Collection Scheme 1: The meter reader will swipe a Smart Card in the Digital water meter to record the reading in the card's memory. Then he will submit the collected data/reading by again swiping the card in the central server. Data Collection Scheme 2: By GPRS/GSM module, the Digital water meter will automatically send the readings to the central server through internet/sms. No need of collecting the water meter readings manually.
