3 UNIQUE FEATURES OF VOWEL LMS: Tracking of non-scorm Learning Material The Vowel LMS provides you with a facility to track non-scorm learning material like Word, PowerPoint, audio files, video files, and PDFs. Furthermore, it helps you track the time spent on lessons down to the second - an important parameter in any learning environment. Face-to-Face Training Management This unique feature aids you in managing your face-to-face training as efficiently as your online training. By creating training batches and independent training categories, you can make it easier for the user to find courses. The calendar display will further help you in your search. Features like editing user enrollment, user nomination, sending notifications and reminders, and ease of marking attendance are all at your disposal and let you organize offline training schedules. HTML Drag and Drop Course Authoring Tool This intuitive course authoring tool allows you to create attractive, engaging elearning courses by simply dragging elements from the sidebar, and appending your content. These elements let you embed online and offline videos, audio, text, etc. to create courses quickly and efficiently. Responsive Interface The Vowel LMS is completely responsive and it lets the users switch between devices a desktop, laptop, tablet, or a mobile device ensuring quick delivery of content and on-the-go learning.

4 COURSE MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION AND SEARCH Multi-Level Categorization Multi-level categorization offers you a choice of a single-level category structure or a nested categorization depending on the kind of content you have, and organizing it in a way that the user can access it easily. Eligibility Criteria Eligibility criteria define learning paths. This ensures that the learner has thoroughly understood a concept before moving on to the next one keeping the learner on track. Multiple Attempts Support When creating a lesson, the administrator can choose the number of attempts a user is allowed for a particular course. This reinforces learning and makes it more effective. Associated Files You can enhance lessons by providing additional study material using the associated files feature.

5 COURSE MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION AND SEARCH Access Control Level (ACL) Managing access to courses is important for your training requirements. ACL support for the courses and users lets you control simple as well as complex permission structures to restrict or allow access as required. Search and Tags As your knowledge repository grows, finding content can get difficult. The search feature and the tag feature will make it easier for the administrator and learners to find courses.

6 LESSON TYPES ORGANIZATION AND SEARCH SCORM SCORM is a set of standards used in the elearning industry, to track content and its usage. Our LMS is SCORM compliant, and hence all your existing courses can be ported into it. Video Learning Learning with audio-visuals is engaging and effective. The Vowel LMS allows you to upload your own videos or embed videos from external links like Vimeo or YouTube. Audio Learning In some cases, learning can simply be about plugging in headphones and listening to audio content. This feature makes it easy for breaking the monotony of textual content. HTML5 HTML5 lessons can contain rich interactive content and even games. This lesson type adds interactivity, engages the learners and makes your content interesting. Moreover, it makes your content platform-independent. AUTHORING Standard WYSIWYG Editor The standard WYSIWYG editor helps you create simple HTML courses. You can create a course with elements like text, graphics, and even hyperlinks to external references.

7 ASSESSMENT WITH ORGANIZATION QUIZZES AND SEARCH 01 Central Question Bank The LMS lets you maintain a bank of questions that you can use to create your quizzes. Any new question(s) that you create are automatically added to the question bank, and this repository of questions can be used to create a quiz anytime. Multiple Choice Questions The LMS provides you with a facility to create multiple choice questions. There s also a facility to create questions with multiple correct answers Rule-based Quiz Generator The LMS lets you create quizzes by using either the question bank or by adding questions on the fly. Alternatively, you can use the intuitive, rule-based quiz generation tool to generate a quiz and then modify it as needed. Answer Sheet Display The Vowel LMS provides you with an option of displaying the answer sheet to users after they complete the quiz. 04 Optional Resume Support 05 This feature allows users to complete a quiz if they have left it incomplete. Time-bound Quizzes This feature enables you to set a timer and set alerts for the quiz to help learners finish on time. Optional Resume Support is also available for the quizzes with timers. 06

8 SCORING AND ORGANIZATION CERTIFICATION AND SEARCH Multiple Scoring Methods You can choose between the best score, the average score, or the latest attempt score for lessons and quizzes across multiple attempts. Certification Criteria You can set criteria for the successful completion of a course. Learners will be eligible for certification only when the set criteria are met. Certificate Generation This feature provides you with a certificate template, but if you so choose, you can design your own certificate using the template editor.

9 REPORTING Course Report The Course Report displays information like Access Control Levels, Likes and Dislikes, Comments, Recommendations, etc. about all the courses that you have created. Student Course Report The Student Course Report allows you to view individual progress based on the courses assigned to each student. Activity Report The Activity Report displays all LMS-related activities performed by the learners and the administrator. The learner, however, will be able to view only the activity that they have performed. User Report The User Report details the activities like Enrolled Courses, Completed Courses, Incomplete Courses of each registered user in the LMS. Attempt Report The Attempt Report lists information about courses, lessons, and quizzes. It shows the attempts by users along with the time spent for each attempt. CLOUD HOSTING Cloud hosting enables you to have secure, scalable storage for your content without having to have your own infrastructure. The cloud hosting option provides faster deployment of the system, with the latest build always available to you. Currently, the Vowel LMS integrates with Amazon S3 for cloud access.

10 FACE TO FACE TRAINING ORGANIZATION MANAGEMENT AND SEARCH Training Categories and Training Batches The administrator can create training categories and batches. The administrator can set starting date for these batches. The Vowel LMS allows you to mass-import user data using a CSV import tool. Training Display Training modules can be browsed by the user using the category structure and filters. The modules will only be visible to users as per their set access level. A calendar-based view is also available to display the offline training schedules. User Enrollment The administrator can enroll users for courses and edit user enrollment. Self-Enrollment For courses where this feature is enabled, users can self-enroll themselves. Nomination for Trainings The administrator can nominate learners for face-to-face training. Accordingly, they can select a specific batch for the nominee to attend.

11 FACE TO FACE TRAINING ORGANIZATION MODULE AND SEARCH Notifications and Reminders When a user is enrolled or nominated for a course, he or she will receive a series of notifications as reminders. For instance, The first notification will be sent to notify the user about the enrollment details. The first reminder will be sent 21 days before the course starts along with the essential course details. The second reminder will be sent nine days before course starts. The training administrator can attendees of the course about any other incidental changes or other details of the course. The training administrator can send reminders through SMS too. Marking Attendance The administrator can mark attendance for trainings. If the administrator sets a training owner while creating the training, this person will have the authority to mark attendance for the training using the web interface. Using either an Android or an ios app, the training owner can mark attendance. The app allows the same administrator account to be configured on multiple devices in case you have multiple people managing the training on the ground.

12 LEARNING TOOLS AND THE LEARNING TOOLBAR Learning Dashboard Every student has a personalized learning dashboard that gives a quick view of their learning activities, recommendations, and activity charts. The Learning Toolbar The learning toolbar provides easy, intuitive access to various learning tools like associated files, notes, and comments and is available when you open a lesson in a module. Notes This feature on the learning toolbar is a facility for the users to take notes while they are viewing a lesson. These personalized notes are saved so that the learners can refer to them later. USER INTERFACE ORGANIZATION AND SEARCH Multiple Course Layouts The learners can choose how the courses should be displayed on their course dashboard. They can choose to create menu layouts common for all categories or have a category-specific menu. Course Page The course page displays details about a particular course. A table of contents, lesson attempts, your progress, overall course progress and social information like group discussions and other members enrolled in the course are shown on a nice, intuitive interface.

13 TRACKING AND ORGANIZATION RESUME SUPPORT AND SEARCH Time Tracking for all Lesson Types Resume Support The time spent on learning is an important assessment parameter in many countries. Traditionally, this was seen as a feature only available to SCORM courses, but we have made it available to all types of lessons. Learning involves spending long periods of time on content, and it might not always be possible to complete a lesson in one sitting. The Vowel LMS remembers where you left off, and lets you resume the next time you wish to complete a lesson. SOCIAL LEARNING AND INTEGRATIONS Though formal training is important, the time spent on unstructured, informal learning is greater than the formal training because it can happen anywhere, anytime. A lot of this learning happens through online and offline socialization and interactions. Our social learning features aid learning through sharing of content, having interactions around the content, and delivering it in innovative ways. Native Sharing on External Social Networks This feature allows you to easily integrate share buttons like Facebook, Google+, and Twitter on your course pages. The Learning Activity Stream The LMS comes inbuilt with simple activity stream that records and shows all the users learning activities. This can be displayed organization-wide to let people see what their peers have achieved so as to motivate them to do better.

14 SOCIAL LEARNING ORGANIZATION AND INTEGRATIONSAND SEARCH Social Network Activity Stream Integration Social network integration allows the LMS to display user activities and achievements to be updated directly onto the user s social network wall. Course Likes and Dislikes Users are allowed to Like or Dislike a course. Like and Dislike counts can be viewed by all users and indicate the quality of the course material. Course Commenting Commenting on a course allows users to give feedback about the various aspects of the course. It could be feedback to the course author or a general review of the course. Course Groups & Discussions Through the Internal Social Network, all users of a course can interact with each other and the facilitator. Features like discussion forums and media sharing offer an enhanced peer-to-peer learning experience. Profile & Avatar Integration The LMS uses Avatars of the users to personalize your course page. You can link your avatar to your social network profile. Showing avatars of users or their friends adds a feeling of familiarity and friendliness to the course page. Badges to Show off your Achievements Online and offline events can be integrated with badges, and these can be awarded using the same criteria as for certification. Showing off an achievement and getting recognition for it motivates the learner to achieve higher standards. Points Integration Integration of point system can be used to motivate learners.

15 ADD-ONS White Labeled Branding The Vowel LMS allows you to brand the LMS as per your organizational branding guidelines. Single Sign-on Facility The LMS offers single sign-on facility and integration with all ERP and HRMS. UPCOMING FEATURES Hierarchy Management This feature can be used to set the hierarchy of the organization with the capability to set a many-to-one reporting structure. This can be updated en masse using a CSV file. Drag and Drop Course Management The Vowel LMS recognizes the Shareable Content Object (SCO) structure and allows for reuse of content objects across courses using a simple drag and drop feature from a central repository. TinCan/Experience API/xAPI The TinCan API (also known as the Experience API or xapi) is an emerging learning standard that enhances the functionality of SCORM. Currently, we have enabled the API to integrate with SCORM cloud. Soon, we shall be integrating it with other learning record stores as well. This feature will help you to analyze and track bite-sized learning modules too. Recommend a Course Users will be able to recommend courses to their friends. Recommend a Course is an effective way to drive social learning.

16 UPCOMING FEATURES ios and Android app for LMS The app will allow you to take courses offline, and it will record your data and store it offline. Once the user comes online, the data will be synchronized with the online record. This will allow learning to take place on a phone or tablet without an Internet connection. Course Member Chat Every course will have a dedicated course member chat which will let users, who have signed up for the course, interact with each other and help solve each other s queries. Assigning a Course and Learning Assignment Administrators will be able to assign users to one or more courses using this feature. It will be mandatory for the user to take this course. Furthermore, the LMS will allow users to upload subjective assignments given to them by their instructors/facilitators through the system. Request a Course This feature will allow the user to browse through all the catalog courses that you are offering and request to be enrolled to a particular course. Dashboard Calendar A calendar will display all the events that a user is enrolled for, in a calendar format on the dashboard. Course Access Based on Learner Profile You will be able to make content available for learners based on their learning pace and profiles.
