January First day for 2018 Dear Parents & Community As we come to the end of this year, it is with great pride that I can look back at the many achievements of the children. They have worked so hard. The many values that have been on display throughout the year have particularly come to the fore as we end the term respect when interacting with members of the school and wider community or when tackling a problem between friends; honesty towards all and caring for each other these values combined strengthen your children s character and capacity to make the most of every aspect of school life. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all staff for their hard work this year. It has been a year of changes and they have embraced this with goodwill and continued to provide the best education for the children. I would also like to thank all parents and carers for their support this year. A great deal of what we do in school cannot be achieved without you and your co-operation and backing. Many thanks and we look forward to working more closely with you next year. Finally, I would like to wish all children who are leaving us at the end of this year all the very best on their journey. I know that they have all had a great start here at Bellevue and know that they will go on to achieve great things in the future. 2 Congratulations to the following students who received School Awards at the end of 2018 SCHOOL ACADEMIC AWARDS The School Academic Awards are presented to students who achieved high academic results across the year, particularly in literacy and numeracy. These awards are sponsored by Steve Murray MP & Nicolle Flint MP. Dan Luci ROTARY CITIZENSHIP AWARD The Coromandel Valley Rotary Citizenship Award is presented each year to two Year 7 students, at the Graduation Ceremony, for the best all round students. The all rounder criteria includes application to school work, community & service at school, being a team player and a good ambassador for the school. TO BE ANNOUNCED AT YEAR 7 GRADUATION School medal recipients in 2018 Last year four students gained 100 points in awards to enable them to receive the Bellevue Heights School Medal. Congratulations to Rosie, Ainsley & Daisy. Receiving this medal means they made significant achievements in a variety of areas across their years at Bellevue Heights Primary. INTENSIVE ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROGRAM The Intensive English Language Program Award is presented to the student who made a positive contribution to the social and educational environment for the Intensive Language Centre students within the whole school context. This award is sponsored by Smartline Home Loans. Rimas FRENCH AWARD 2018 The French Award is presented each year to a Year 7 student who has shown excellent study and learning skills, possesses a very good French accent and has scored highly in French tests over the year. In 2018 there were 2 awards. Rosie Ainsley Have you returned your raffle book yet? Please return your raffle tickets, with money, to the school office before 9am Thursday morning, December 13 as the raffle will be drawn at the final assembly on Thursday morning. Daisy Lily Awards for Excellence Recipients This fortnight the following students earned a certificate: Luci & Grace. Luci NO SCHOOL LUNCH ORDERS tomorrow There are no lunch orders on Thursday 13 December Office Hours open in 2019 The school office is closed from Friday 14 December and will re-open on Monday 21 January Office hours for pre-school week only are 9am to 2pm
