10 LTE trials are underway Objective: test the capability and performance of the LTE technology and assess its viability for commercialisation in the near future. Vendors: Ericsson Huawei Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) Scope: The trials will take place using ACMA approved 2.6GHz test spectrum and 1.8GHz spectrum. Assess the performance and capability of LTE in the Telstra radio access network. Includes some core network development and build testing. Capacity and coverage of LTE with various radio unit power configurations. Performance of MIMO with various base and use equipment antenna configurations. An understanding of the load generated by the X2 interface. An understanding of the evolved packet core (epc) utilising Telstra s model packet core network.
