3 3 FaxCore Ev5 - -To-Fax Setup Guide The To Fax Setup Guide This chapter describes the various methods available in setting up your to fax facility for FaxCore. FaxCore Integration White List The FaxCore Integration page manages and defines the domain level white list employed in the Tier-1 validation process and the primary notification address verification in the Tier-2 validation process for to fax transactions. Prior to setting up the to fax facility, the integration option must be configured in advance. 1. Logon to the FaxCore administrator panel and navigate to Global Settings > Integration to view the current list of top level domains which are white listed in FaxCore. 2. Click New to launch the Integration window to begin specifying a white list for your organization s domain. 3. At the External Domain attribute field, specify the domain name associated with the address of the sender, which is usually the domain name of your organization followed by prefixing the asterisk character. Examples: *faxcore.com/*who.org/*conservation.wwf.org 4. At the Map To Users In Domain option, select the desired FaxCore domain in which the white list rule will be mapped and applied to. 5. At the Search For Users In Sub-Domains option, select the desired property for the white list rule: 5.1. If specified Yes, the white list rule is mapped to child domains of the domain specified in the Map To Users In Domain option If specified No, the white list rule is not mapped to child domains of the domain specified in the Map To Users In Domain option. 6. At the Allow Anonymous option, define the property that governs the application of Tier-1 and Tier-2 validation properties for the FaxCore domain users If specified Yes, accounts are allowed to bypass the Tier-2 validation process and additional configuration options are presented below: When the Allow Anonymous option is specified Yes, a default user account must be assigned at the Profile To Assign To Anonymous option to take ownership of the fax transaction, therefore at the option field, click and specify the desired user account If specified No, accounts are not allowed to bypass the Tier-2 validation process thus must require a valid FaxCore account in order to send faxes via At the Activate Mapping option, specify the corresponding option to enable or disable the white list entry upon clicking Save & Close to create the entry.

4 4 FaxCore Ev5 - -To-Fax Setup Guide Exchange Connector - Exchange 2010 Edition Exchange Connector Address Syntax: [FAX:RecipientName@FaxNumber] / [FAX:JohnSmith@ ] Prerequisite: If you intend to leverage off the SMTP Integration method with your to fax facility, you will need to first establish an address space which will serve as a unique identifier to your end users when sending faxes via . Examples: fax.faxcore.com/faxserver.faxcore.com/servername.faxcore.com. 1. Launch the Exchange Management Console on your Microsoft Exchange server and expand both the On- Premises node and subsequently the Organization Configuration node to reveal the Hub Transport sub-node. 2. Within the Hub Transport sub-node, select the Send Connector tab and right click an empty area within the primary pane and select New Send Connector or select it from the Actions pane to begin setting up your send connector. 3. From the initial Introduction page, specify a name for your connector at the Name attribute field and select Figure Custom at the Intended Use drop down list. 4. Select Next to view the Address Space page and click the down arrow beside the Add button and select Custom Address Space to begin specifying your fax server s Exchange Integration parameters. 5. On the Custom Address Space window, specify the following value: FAX at the Type attribute field followed by specifying the value: * at the Address Space attribute field. Within the Cost attribute field, specify the value: 1 followed by clicking OK to complete your connector setup. 6. Click the down arrow beside the Add button and select SMTP Address Space to begin specifying your fax server s SMTP Integration parameters. 7. On the SMTP Address Space window, specify the pre-determined address space: (Example: fax.faxcore.com) followed by specifying the value: 1 at the Cost attribute field and click OK to complete your Figure connector setup. Once your address space setup has been completed, click Next to proceed to the Network Settings page and select the Route Mail Through The Following Smart Hosts option followed by clicking Add to launch the Add Smart Host window. 9. Select either the IP Address or Fully Qualified Domain Name option and provide the location address of your Figure FaxCore server followed by clicking OK. 10. Click Next to proceed to the Configure Smart Host Authentication Settings and select None for no authentication Figure model.

On the subsequent Source Server window, click Add and associate a hub transport server to your send connector followed by clicking OK and Next to preview the configuration summary of your send connectors. 12. When satisfied that all the configuration parameters are correct, click New to allow the Exchange server to begin Figure creating your send connector. 13. Upon completing the setup of the new send connector, you ll be presented with a configuration summary in the Figure Completion window. 8 8 FaxCore Ev5 - -To-Fax Setup Guide SMTP Integration SMTP Integration Address Syntax: FaxNumber@Domain / @fax.faxcore.com Prerequisite: For SMTP Integration, you will need to first establish an address space which will serve as a unique identifier to your end users when sending faxes via . Examples: fax.faxcore.com/faxserver.faxcore.com/servername.faxcore.com. 1. Launch the DNS Management Console on your DNS server and expand the Forward Lookup Zones directory to Figure display the list of domains. 2. Under the Forward Lookup Zones directory, right click your primary domain folder and select New Mail Exchange Figure (MX) to begin creating an MX record. At the New Resource Record window, specify the sub-domain value of your pre-determined address space at the Host/Child Domain attribute field. 4. Then at the Fully Qualified Domain Name attribute field, click Browse and point it to your fax server followed by specifying the value: 10 at the Mail Server Priority and clicking OK to complete your MX record setup.

9 9 FaxCore Ev5 - -To-Fax Setup Guide Provisioning Of SMTP Services This chapter describes how to provision the SMTP service on your fax server to accept originating from your end users which will be passed onto the FaxCore SMTP Gateway service for conversion into a fax transaction. Creating A Server White List & Managing File Size Restrictions 1. Launch the IIS Management Console (Internet Information Services) on your fax server and right click the Default SMTP Virtual Server and select Properties to view its configurable parameters and attributes. 2. Select the Access tab followed by clicking Connection on the Connection Control subsection to begin creating and managing your SMTP server white list. 3. On the Connection window, check the Only The List Below option to force the SMTP service to only accept incoming connections originating from machines which are members of the white list. 4. To white list your servers, click Add to bring up the Computer window and begin specifying your white list option by either using the Single Computer method or the Group Of Computers or Domain method. Repeat this step if necessary until all of your servers are white listed, then click OK followed by Apply to affect the changes. 5. Next select the Messages tab and uncheck the Limit Message Size To (KB) and Limit Session Size To (KB) option to remove the file size restriction followed by clicking Apply and OK to affect the changes. Alias Setup & Drop Directory Setup 1. While still at the IIS Management Console (Internet Information Services) on your fax server, expand the Default Figure SMTP Virtual Server and click on Domains to display a list of the current domain aliases. 2. Right click the default domain and select Properties to view its configurable parameters and attributes. Figure Internet Information Service Manager 3. At the Drop Directory attribute field, ensure that the file drop path points to the xgateway\smtp\inbox directory Figure within the FaxCore installation folder and if not, click Browse and correct the file drop path. 4. Uncheck the Enable Drop Directory Quota option followed by clicking Apply and OK to affect the changes. 5. From within the Default SMTP Virtual Server, select Domains and right click an empty area within the primary Figure window pane and select New > Domain to bring up the New SMTP Domain Wizard.

Select Alias for the domain type and click Next and specify the unique address space which you have predetermined earlier and click Finish to complete the new domain addition. From within the Default SMTP Virtual Server, select Domains and right click an empty area within the primary window pane and select New > Domain to bring up the New SMTP Domain Wizard. 8. Select Alias for the domain type and click Next and specify the originating domain address space of your organization and click Finish to complete the new domain addition.
