7 th RITS-NET Thematical Workshop on Fleetmanagement and freight 7 th thematic RITS-Net workshop 24 th -26 th March, 2014 Ljubljana, Slovenia Speakers name: Attila Király BIOKOM Nonprofit Ltd., Hungary
Biokom Nonprofit Ltd. Pécs European Capital of Culture The South-Transdanubian Region of Hungary Center: Pécs Counties: Somogy, Tolna, Baranya Area: 14,169 km 2 Highest point: 680 m (Zengő) Population: (10%) Population density: 67 pers/ km 2 Largest rivers: Danube, Drava source: wikipedia.org
Traffic controlling and monitoring in the region Several private companies have their solutions to monitor traffic and different services to monitor the driver and to follow vehicles; Problem: we support e-bikes, environment friendly solutions, fleet management, but we forget about pedestrians, the most environmentfriendlytransportmethod. Wedon thavethenecessarynetworkand equipments installed to monitor our cities and to interviene when necessary. Trafficinformationis easytoaccessforeveryone(national-and private service providers); Problem : whiledevelopingdifferentseparatesolutions, thefree systems, thatarebasedontherealdemandof themass, havean always biggerimportance, and theyachieveourgoalssilently(googlemaps, googletrafficinfo, etc.) -> ina fewyears, wecanonlyadapt, notinfluence
Traffic controlling and monitoring in the region(2) Itis themain prioritytoimprovesafetyand roadtransportsecurity: monitoring systems play a very important role to attain these objectives: Traffic cameras also encourage the drivers to comply with the rules(also speedcams); Real time information can help avoiding traffic jams and accidents;
Traffic controlling and monitoring in the region(3) The traffic monitoring and -most of all- the controlling is confined to official bodies in our region(police, city maintenance); The importance of traffic monitoring increases: more advanced monitoring system is under construction to improve safety; The compliance of the electronic road toll regulation also needs continousmonitoring: the e-road toll was introduced from 1st July, 2013 inhungary for Heavy goods vehicle with a maximum total permissible weight over 3.5 tons. For buses although they exceed 3.5 tons e-road toll payment is not obligatory.
Biokom Nonprofit Ltd. Pécs European Capital of Culture Monitoring systems of the driver and vehicle (fleet management applications) Most of the companies have their own solutions for tracking and operating their fleet; Our company also have its special system that provides information on every technical detail and positionof thevehiclesand alsohelpstheadministration(on the basis of the incoming data from the daily work, and from the daily tasks a travelling warrant is created automatically, that contains the number of the daily turnings, the weighing data, etc.); Main functions of the system: Tracking vehicles; Automatic data storage; Continuous analysis of daily performances; Collecting data for the controlling (exportable to excel); Map representation of the vehicle s and container sactual position (GIS); Collecting technological parameters (collection, rest, separation of the different itinerary states); Measurement of the fullness is a special function; Play-back function(user information); Reduction of the administration (ERP connection); Connected to number plate recognition, chip identification of the container(customer).
Monitoring systems of the driver and vehicle (fleet management applications) (2) The technology behind these systems are very similar, and the differentsystemsaredevelopedaccordingtothespecialneedsof eachsector(publictransportproviders, wastetransportation, freight, etc.) These systems can help optimizing the routes, driving styles and in somecasestheschedules(publictransport, wastetransportation), etc; Fleetmanagement is a verybasicsolutioninthecountry and inthe regionforeverytransportationcompany: BUT: the most significant advantage besides optimization, that we hear from every operator is fuel saving with various methods(fuel flow).
Regional fleet management and freight in general Traffic monitoring in our region: has mainly safety reasons; helps detecting motoring offences; controlls the electronic road toll; The freighttrafficis notsoheavy: heavyvehiclesareforcedtoavoidthecity (theaimis tokeepthem outsideof thecity -limited trafficareas, ) inordertopreventtrafficjams, preserve the air- and road quality; thanks to these measures traffic jams are not typical in our region; strictrulesalsoonthemotorwaysfortheheavyvehicles(overtakingis limited)
