3 University of Antwerp founded in 2003 (merger), roots going back to 1852 medium sized: 3rd university in Flanders publicly funded and fully accredited active pluralism excellence in research located in the demographically and economically (perhaps) most important region in Belgium Antwerp region: more than 1 million people, more than 100 nationalities

9 Vision, mission, strategic goals The University of Antwerp offers a set of programs relevant to society for students from all social strata and every generation The University of Antwerp organizes student-centered and competence-based education All programs are meant to encourage students to participate in international exchange Excellence in research importance of nexus researchteaching
