4 SECTION 1: PROGRAM ABSTRACT Georgian College s Bachelor of Business (Golf Management) program is the only degree-level golf management program in Canada. Our combination of foundational business courses, golf-industry specific courses and close to 2500 hours of golf and club industry-related work experience makes this extraordinary program unique in the world. Students obtain a degree-level education in business management with an applied focus for the golf and club industry. Graduates develop the conceptual knowledge and understanding of research methodologies, current trends, critical thinking and problem solving skills that allow them to respond to challenges in the golf industry with entrepreneurial initiative. Real-life industry-relevant learning experiences provide important networking opportunities for our future graduates. Employment opportunities for graduates include entry-level management positions in golf clubhouses, golf pro shops, turf and maintenance, membership marketing, food and beverage, golf coaching, golf equipment sales, and golf instruction. Our graduates have a successful employment rate of 100%. A number of institutions have agreed to accept our graduates into programs including St. Mary s University, Wilfred Laurier University, University Canada West, Griffiths University and University of Sydney. We continue to negotiate for these opportunities on behalf of our students. We are proposing a change to our nomenclature to Bachelor of Business Administration (Golf Management) in part to facilitate the pathway to an.
