Bachelor of Science, with a major in Sociology, Oklahoma State University, 1976 ACADEMIC DISTINCTION: Recipient of the 2010 University Illinois Springfield Faculty Excellence Award, given to a senior faculty member who is honored for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service; and for serving as a role model and mentor to other faculty. October 1994 to CONSULTATION EXPERIENCE: Research Consultant, Senior Sobriety Program, Community Counseling Center, July, 1989 to January, Curriculum Development Consultant, Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Aging Services Division, developed curriculum for three different components of Oklahoma Aging Advocacy Leadership Academy. Components included sessions for core curriculum, graduate sessions, and aging network professionals. Topics included: Diversity and Aging, Organizing for Social Change within the Framework of Crisis Pending Legislation, Aging Community Resources, Mental Health and Aging, Older Adult Health and Wellness, Long Term Care, Spirituality and Aging, The Future of Housing Older Americans, and Caregiving Issues. February 1999 to June FIELD EXPERIENCE: ELDERLY SERVICE DELIVERY: State Coordinator, Centenarian Club of Oklahoma, received grant monies annually totaling over $100, from the Department of Human Services, to coordinate state-wide efforts to honor and recognize Oklahomans who are 100 years of age or older. Initiated freestanding agency base, submitted and received 501c3 status. Developed a database of the characteristics of Oklahoma Centenarians to
