3 Index Coincident Indicators September August September About the Data: The ICEI is a monthly composite index business cycle indicators produced by the NYS Dept. Labor. It is designed to provide reliable timely information about current economic conditions in New York State. The indicators include private sector employment, the unemployment rate, average weekly hours manufacturing workers, sales tax collections. (July 1992 = 100)

5 Case-Shiller Home Index Prices for NYC August July August About the Data: The S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Indices measure changes in the value residential real estate both nationally as well as in 20 metropolitan regions. (January 2000 = 100)
6 Authorized Building Permits, New York State Permits Value ($000) September ,516 $467,028 August ,817 $488,342 Change from last month -11% -4% September ,886 $393,995 Change from last year -35% 19% About the Data: Data on building permits for housing units is compiled by the U.S. Bureau the Census as one the nation s leading economic indicators. The data is reported to the Census Bureau by individual local governments who issue building permits. ** June 2008 is excluded due to an extreme anomaly in the data, reflecting large multi-unit permit activity in New York City.
7 Consumer Confidence NY US Third Quarter Second Quarter Change from last quarter -2% -9% Third Quarter Change from last year -2% -2% About the Data: New York consumer confidence is measured in a monthly survey by the Siena Institute by rom telephone calls to 805 New York State residents over the age 18. This index allows a direct comparison to the University Michigan s Consumer Sentiment index for the nation. Note: The data is not available monthly since November, 2014, March, 2015 is the latest.
8 Empire State Manufacturing Survey October September October About the Data: Each month about 200 manufacturing executives in a variety industries across the state are sent questionnaires to report changes in different indicators from the previous month. About 100 responses are received. The survey s main index, general business conditions, is not a weighted average other indicators it is a distinct question posed on the survey. The index is seasonally adjusted.
9 Weekly Hours Earnings for NYS Manufacturing Production Workers Hours Earnings September $ August $ Change from last month -0.4 $1.15 September $ Change from last year $27.82 About the Data: Weekly hours earnings data comes from the Department Labor s monthly Current Employment Survey 18,000 employers. It measures the length the work week, including overtime, for workers involved in the production goods.
10 Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (unadjusted) NYC Metro US September August September About the Data: The Consumer Price Index is prepared monthly by the U.S. Bureau Labor Statistics. The CPI measures the cost a market basket goods services purchased, in this case, by urban consumers. The major categories include food beverages, housing, apparel, transportation, medical care, recreation, education communication, other goods. The CPI is not available for local areas. ( = 100)

Aggregate personal income is the income that is received by or on behalf all the individuals who live in the State. Wage salary disbursements consists the money paid to employees, including corporate ficers salaries bonuses, commissions, pay-in-kind, incentive payments, tips.
