1 What is OASE? OASE is the digital learning and working environment of TU/e. Via this application you can access all the information you need about study programs, courses, exams and lecture schedules. Through OASE you can enroll for courses, groups and exams, create your personal lecture schedule and access course and group documents. In addition, you can consult your exam results, your email and agenda in this way. For students, OASE also offers a mobile version. The mobile version can be accessed through the regular OASE site (http://education.tue.nl, then click Mobile) or direct through https://m.edu.tue.nl. On the mobile site your find your exam results, your personal lecture schedule and your news messages. 3 Quick start OASE / Version 1.0
2 What changes for me with OASE? OASE is the successor to Studyweb and Owinfo. You can access OASE at http://education.tue.nl. If you click on Help you can download a Quick Start to help you get started. OASE comprises all the functions of Studyweb and Owinfo, with the following exceptions: Accessing diaries and calendars Exporting your personal timetable to Outlook Peer assessment (only for subjects given by the IE&IS department) For the time being, OASE will still link you through to Owinfo and Studyweb for these functions. Owinfo will continue to be accessible for a while after OASE has been introduced, but will be discontinued after a short time (excepting the functions mentioned above). Studyweb will only be used after the introduction of OASE to access peer assessments. You can use OASE to register for courses and access subject sites. 4 Quick start OASE / Version 1.0
3 Where do I find OASE and how do I log on? You find the digital learning and working environment (DLWO) at http://education1.tue.nl/. You can log in with the username and password you use for your TU/e email account. For students, OASE also offers a mobile version. The mobile version can be accessed through the regular OASE site (http://education.tue.nl, then click Mobile) or direct through https://m.edu.tue.nl. 4 Where can I get help? You will find an answer to many questions via the Help function in OASE. 5 Where can I find information about my course and about the schedule for my course and the examination? Via Activities, Search or your Favorites, go to the course you wish to have information about. Then click the course code. A screen will appear with detailed information about your course. This screen has two tabs: Information and Schedule. Under the tab Information you find the detailed information about the course and the exams Under the tab Schedule you will find the schedule for your course and the exam. 7 Quick start OASE / Version 1.0
6 Where can I find a list with the timetable for my study program? To retrieve a list with the timetable for your study program(s), go to Activities. Select the relevant target group(s) and click Search. Then select the subjects you wish to retrieve the timetable for and click Show timetable below the list of results. 7 What does my personal study schedule contain? The personal study schedule is a extension of the personal timetable as you may know from Owinfo. Your personal study schedule contains the following items: 1. Subjects, courses, examinations and exams for which you have registered. 2. Subjects, courses, examinations and exams you added to your personal study schedule (this is comparable to what you know from Owinfo) 3. Subject or courses in which are involved as a student assistant (or in another supporting role) You can use your personal study schedule in two ways: 1. Access it directly via Timetable in the lower right part of the screen. 2. Show your personal study schedule next to the selection of subjects you retrieved the timetable for. In this way, you can see if the activities you selected fit your study planning. You do this by selecting the option Show personal study schedule. 9 Quick start OASE / Version 1.0
8 How do I add one or more courses to my personal study schedule? Go to Activities and by setting filters in Filter search resultst, generate a list of one or more courses. Select the course or the courses you wish to add to your personal lecture schedule, then click Add to timetable at the bottom of the list. 10 Quick start OASE / Version 1.0
9 How do I register for an exam, a subject or a group? Registration for an exam, a course or a group can be done in different ways. To register for an exam, a course or a group, go to Activities. Look up the subject for which you wish to register through Filter search results. Then there are three ways to register: 1. Click register behind the subject: A pop-up with all available possibilities to register appears. select the exam, the course or the group in the screen that appears. Then click Register for selection. 2. Click the subject code of the subject: The information page of the subject appears and in the block Overview you can register (if registration is possible) 3. (only when the subject has more instances, ie the subject or the course if offered more than once in a time period) After clicking the subject code, a pop-up appears with a list of the different instances. In this pop-up you can click Register to register or the number of the instance to go to the information page for the subject or course. You can also look up the subject via Search, but then only options 2 and 3 are available. 10 Where can I find the list of subjects and examinations for which I have registered? Click Activities. On the page that appears you find the block My Activities. In this block you find the following activities: 1. The subjects, courses, examinations and exams for which you have registered. 2. The subjects and courses in which you are involved in another, e.g. as a student assistant. 13 Quick start OASE / Version 1.0
11 How do I deregister for an examination, a subject or a group? To deregister, go on the page Activities to the block My Activities, select the exams, subjects or groups you wish to deregister for and click Deregister. 14 Quick start OASE / Version 1.0
12 How can I find the documents and announcements of my courses and groups? To find the documents of a course, navigate to the course via Activities or Search. Click the course code and a screen with detailed information about the course will appear. Then click the link icon in the block Overview at the level you wish to see the site for. 13 How can I add a subject to my favorites? Click the +-sign in the lower left part of the screen. In the screen that appears, click Add to Favorites. 14 Which announcements do I find on the newspage? On the newspage (News) you find the following announcements: 1. General links: Links to other sources of information about you study programs. 2. Education news: General announcements on educational matters. 3. News and announcements on courses: Announcements of the courses you have registered for. 4. News channels of study programs: In these channels you find announcements on study programs. You are automaticalle subscribed for the news channels of your own study program. 15 How can I see and edit my personal data? In the personal menu, click Profile. You then get an overview of your personal data and data about your study history. 18 Quick start OASE / Version 1.0

17 How do I send email in OASE? OASE has two email functions for students: 1. You access your own email account by clicking Email in the personal menu 2.
