Using Energy Wisely for a Better Future An overview of the newly expanded Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program 07072011EEPE3Presentation

Why Natural Gas Efficiency? If the energy efficiency of commercial and industrial buildings improved by just 10 percent: Customers would save $20 billion on energy bills. Greenhouse gas emission reductions would equal about 30 million vehicles. Source: ENERGY STAR 2

Why Natural Gas Efficiency? Save energy and money through efficiency improvements in Furnaces Boilers Water heaters Heating Equipment Tune ups Heating Equipment Controls Kitchen Equipment 3

Why Natural Gas Efficiency? Efficiency helps protect the environment for future generations If every gas water heater purchaser in the U.S. chose an ENERGY STAR qualified gas storage model over standard, it would: Prevent one billion pounds of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere. Equivalent of creating 132,000 acres of forest. Source: ENERGY STAR 4

Purpose of the Program Help Nicor Gas customers: Save energy and money by reducing the cost of natural gas saving products. All rate classes eligible. Help contractors: Increase awareness of the benefits of natural gas efficiency by providing tools to help contractors close the sale. 5
