STUDIO VAN SCHUPPEN state-of-the-art recording venue for over 40 years SOME WORLD FAMOUS ARTISTS WE RECORDED... Having been at the heart of classical music recordings in the Netherlands for over four decades, Studio van Schuppen never ceased to impress her audience of well-known musicians by turning in-depth knowledge and extensive experience into highly treasured music productions. An everlasting urge to pioneer state-of-the-art technological innovations proved essential in delivering productions that meet the highest standards of the global music industry and beyond... A wide range of key musical assets guarantees optimal recording, editing, mixing and mastering conditions to our highly recognized engineers. We are proud to mention our acoustically designed recording room (90 m2), control room (40 m2) and edit rooms, our fantastic Steinway & Sons model D274, our superior collection of microphones, state-of-the-art (digital and analogue) mastering equipment and excellent monitoring (Studer, Crane Song, ATC). Recent consolidations on the infrastructure level and joint ventures with key technology providers / software vendors, allowed Studio van Schuppen to standardize on surround recordings in DSD / DXD format. Of course, the studio is already pushing the boundaries of this innovation to facilitate, for example, studio recordings that sound like the best concerthall recordings, equivalent location recordings and popular music productions based on the very same format and sound quality. Your dream is our concern... A recording project is a complex process in which a multitude of expectations, wishes, visions and dreams convert into an end product to be cherished for a long time. The quality of this product not only depends on the artistic performance on hand but also on the mutual reinforcement of technology, expertise and (musical) leadership. At Studio van Schuppen we believe superb music productions reproduce the experience of attending the ultimate performance over and over again to any audience at any time. To create these superb music productions, we are left with no option but maximizing the expressive momentum of the recorded performance and optimizing the end product s capability to convey the intentions and emotions on hand. Marcel Gerardts & Jochem Geene at Studio van Schuppen s controlroom With the route to the ultimate performance differing in each production, we are committed to continuously optimize our readiness to facilitate whatever is needed, at the highest pace, to get the best results. We simply do not allow ourselves, nor the technology we apply, to miss the momentum and destroy a dream. Although we believe technology can help preserve, and even reinforce, the expressiveness of a production, we do not allow technology to jeopardize the natural characteristic of reproduced sound by degrading sound quality or introducing unwanted artifacts. That is why we have spent a lot of research and testing to assemble the right set of tools. In the end, however, each recording project is still a quest for the ultimate. Although a flexible infrastructure and the best tools really contribute to the overall quality, the project itself is a meeting of people dealing with the unforgiving nature of a product that is meant to affect people for many years to come. Our people make sure they are ready to deal with this quest in any sense we can think of... That is what we have been standing for during over 4 decades of music recording! Jochem Geene Director/Owner Our pristine Steinway & Sons Model D 274
