The Clerk s, sheriff s and Ambulance monthly reports for month of August 2015 were examined by the board. Dolly Kienke, zoning administrator, was present with Gary and Laura Marshall to discuss a Conservation Easement. It was moved by Lechtenberg and seconded by Bernt to approve the

Conservation Easement as presented.. Ayes: Bernt, Lechtenberg, Classen, Boska and Spencer. Nays: Nicolaus. Absent: Heiser. Motion carried. It was moved by Classen and seconded by Lechtenberg to adopt the following resolution. Ayes: Nicolaus, Bernt, Lechtenberg, Classen, Boska and Spencer. Absent: Heiser. Motion carried. Resolution 2015-09-22-01 WHEREAS, County Treasurer, Kathy Peppel, as required by law had filed with the County Board of Supervisors a list of all parcels of real estate in Boyd County on which real estate taxes are delinquent, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT THE County Treasurer is hereby directed to issue tax sale certificates to Boyd County on the parcels of real estate on which taxes are delinquent for 3 or more years and the County Treasurer is further directed to deliver these tax sale certificates to the County Attorney for tax foreclosure as provided by law. (Sec 77-1918). Clarence Wrede, Sheriff, and Thomas Herzog, Attorney, were present with the board. It was moved by Nicolaus and seconded by Classen to go into closed session to discuss personnel. Ayes: Nicolaus, Bernt, Lechtenberg, Classen, Boska and Spencer. Absent: Heiser. Motion carried. The board went into closed session at 10:12 a.m. with the board, sheriff and attorney present. It was moved by Lechtenberg and seconded by Classen to come out of closed session. Ayes: Nicolaus, Bernt, Lechtenberg, Classen, Boska and Spencer. Absent: Heiser. Motion carried. The board came out of closed session at 10:20 a.m. Barb Otto and Jean Reiman were present to present a resolution to post the National Motto In God We Trust. It was moved by Nicolaus and seconded by Bernt to adopt the following resolution. Ayes: Nicolaus, Bernt, Lechtenberg, Classen, Boska and Spencer. Absent: Heiser. Motion carried. Resolution 2015-09-22-02 IN THE COUNTY OF BOYD IN GOD WE TRUST A Resoluiton of the County of Boyd in the State of Nebraska, Supporting the Display of the National Motto In God We Trust in the Boyd County Courthouse in a prominent Location. WHEREAS, In God We Trust became the United States national motto on July 30, 1956, shortly after our nation led the world through the trauma of World War II and WHEREAS, the words have been used on U.S. currency since 1864; and WHEREAS, the same inspiring slogan is engraved above the entrance to the Senate Chamber as well as above the Speaker s dais in the House of Representatives; and WHEREAS, in both war and peace, these words have been a profound source of strength and guidance to many generations of Americans; and WHEREAS, the County desires to display this patriotic motto in the Boyd County Courthouse as a way to solemnize public occasions and express confidence in our society. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County of Boyd does hereby resolve as follows: Section 1. That the County of Boyd, State of Nebraska, does hereby determine that the historic and patriotic words of our national motto, In God We Trust, shall be permanently and prominently displayed in the Boyd County Courthouse. Section 2. The County Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions. Gary Connot, Highway Superintendent, was present to discuss roads and bridges. It was moved by Nicolaus and seconded by Lechtenberg to authorize Spencer to sign the annual Standardized System of

Annual Reports for Boyd County as presented. Ayes: Nicolaus, Bernt, Lechtenberg, Classen, Boska and Spencer. Absent: Heiser. Motion carried. A discussion was had on a bridge job description. It was moved by Nicolaus and seconded by Classen to set the bid date for the Lynch South bridge for November 24, 2015. Ayes: Nicolaus, Bernt, Lechtenberg, Classen, Boska and Spencer. Absent: Heiser. Motion carried. It was moved by Classen and seconded by Nicolaus to use Holt County Bids for a new motor grader and to purchase a Caterpillar 38000 for $282,750.00. Ayes: Nicolaus, Bernt, Lechtenberg, Classen and Spencer. Nays: Boska. Absent: Heiser. Motion carried. It was moved by Nicolaus and seconded by Lechtenberg to approve the road boring between sections 29 and 33 township 35 range 15. Ayes: Nicolaus, Bernt, Lechtenberg, Classen, Boska and Spencer. Absent: Heiser. Motion carried. It was moved by Nicolaus and seconded by Lechtenberg to approve the road boring between sections 29 and 32 township 35 range 15. Ayes: Nicolaus, Bernt, Lechtenberg, Classen, Boska and Spencer. Absent: Heiser. Motion carried. Darrin Liewer, Bridge foreman, was present to give his report to the board. A discussion was had on the repairs on trailer brakes. Rosa (Dolly) Kienke was present to discuss concerns with the planning board. It was moved by Boska and seconded by Classen to adjourn the meeting. Ayes: Nicolaus, Bernt, Lechtenberg, Classen, Boska and Spencer. Absent: Heiser. Motion carried.
