About York EMC Services Your Smart Route to Compliance What our customers say... York EMC Services (YES) is an independent organisation with over 25 years experience providing regulatory and compliance consultancy, compliance testing, certification, training and instrumentation. We operate from four sites across the UK which includes three UKAS accredited test laboratories, near Bristol, Leeds and in Grangemouth, with our headquarters in York. We recently ran some in house EMC appreciation training for our staff, with YES as the training provider. They were most helpful in setting up the subject and content of the courses. Given that the attendance ranged from senior managers, through designers to installers YES did an excellent job in the presentation and demonstration. Systems Engineer, Signalling Solutions Our service portfolio covers: EMC and electrical safety testing Radio and telecoms testing Electromagnetic site surveys EMC, Radio and Safety Consultancy and Research Electromagnetic modelling Training Our instrumentation portfolio covers: Broadband reference sources - Dual mode comb / noise generators - Comb generators - Noise generators Harmonics and flicker generator Compact wideband antenna Cable coupling clamp Training Courses and Workshops Being my first time testing at an external EMC test house, the help and guidance provided by York EMC Services on both the test procedures and correct use of equipment was very welcome. Also, the flexibility to fit in our testing at very short notice, on numerous occasions, was a massive help to be able to achieve our project delivery milestones. Electronics NPI Engineer, Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems We have built a really good working relationship with the York EMC team over the last few years, in particular with the Castleford laboratory. The support they offer is fantastic and we really appreciated the great job they do, sometimes at very short notice. Technical Manager, Ferrograph Commitment to Quality YES is committed to providing the highest quality services in all our service areas by fully understanding and meeting the customer s expectations in a timely and cost effective manner. YES customers can be assured that it is our intention to provide technical support and products of the highest calibre, delivered professionally in an accessible and friendly way. All of our services are within the scope of our quality system and accredited to ISO 17025 or ISO 9001 as appropriate. York EMC Services (YES) has an international reputation for providing Training Courses and Workshops for individuals and organisations. Our training portfolio ranges from one day introductory courses to advanced in-depth workshops, ensuring that we are able to accommodate you and your colleagues changing needs. Attending YES training events helps you to achieve your regulatory compliance requirements in a knowledgeable and cost effective manner. Our courses and workshops are designed to address the real-world issues experienced by manufacturers on the route to compliance. We ensure that they contain the appropriate balance of theory and practical advice through presentations and demonstrations in our accredited test laboratories. Training Courses and Workshops Our one day EMC Training Workshops include an Introduction to EMC, the EMC Directive and Technical Documentation and a Joint 2 in 1 Introduction to EMC and Electrical Safety. Our more specialist EMC courses run for two or three days and include Advanced Measurements and EMC Design. For an end to end understanding of EMC, from the underlying theory through to a laboratory based workshop, we offer a 5 day course on the Fundamentals of Design and Testing for EMC. The requirements of the unique and complex railway EMC environment are addressed in another 5 day course, EMC in Railways. We also provide an extensive range of 1 or 2 day courses and workshops covering other Directives and related subjects. These include: Electrical Safety Requirements workshop (Low Voltage Directive) EMF workshop Radio Equipment Directive Principles of Engineering Electromagnetics Principles of Antennas Principles of transmission lines, crosstalk and cable screening As a subsidiary company of the University of York we commenced delivering bespoke EMC training in 1982. Since then our highly qualified and experienced consultanting engineers, in-house engineers and academic colleagues continue to present our courses to the highest standard. Many have international reputations as individuals in their own right, with a history of presenting technical papers at conferences worldwide. Bespoke and In-House Training In addition to our scheduled courses, we can offer bespoke training solutions, choosing from our extensive portfolio and tailored to your specific requirements. A bespoke course can be held at your own premises or venue of your choice. Please contact our Training Co-ordinator at our York office or e-mail training@yorkemc.co.uk for further information.
