About This Guide This Polycom Polycom RSS 4000 / RealPresence Capture Server 1.6 and RealPresence Media Manager 6.6 Integration Guide provides instructions for integrating the Polycom RSS 4000 and RealPresence Capture Server appliances with RealPresence Media Manager. For information on administering RealPresence Media Manager, see the Polycom RealPresence Media Manager Administrator s Guide. Who Should Read This Guide? System administrators should read this guide to learn how to integrate Polycom RSS 4000 and RealPresence Capture Server with RealPresence Media Manager. This guide describes administrationlevel tasks and is not intended for end users. Get Started You can integrate RealPresence Media Manager version 6.6 software with the Polycom RSS 4000 and RealPresence Capture Server 1.6 appliances. The Polycom RSS 4000 and RealPresence Capture Server appliances are network-based video conferencing solutions that enable live streaming, recording, and archiving of video conference calls. Integrate your organizations Polycom RSS 4000 or RealPresence Capture Server solutions to leverage RealPresence Media Manager software s video content management capabilities. The Polycom RSS 4000 and RealPresence Capture Server integration enables you to manage video conference calls and distribute them through the RealPresence Media Manager portal. Configure the RealPresence Media Manager software in the Admin Tool to import Polycom RSS 4000 and RealPresence Capture Server live or archived calls, and then publish them to a RealPresence Media Manager portal or send them to metadata providers for processing. To complete this integration, you need the following: RealPresence Media Manager version 6.6 software installed, licensed, and connected to your organization s network Polycom RSS 4000 version 6.0 or later or RealPresence Capture Server version 1.6 or later installed, licensed, and connected to your organization s network Administrator access to both the RealPresence Media Manager software and Admin Tool Administrator access to the Polycom RSS 4000 / RealPresence Capture Server DNS assigned to the RealPresence Media Manager instance IP address, submask, and gateway of the RealPresence Capture Server and RealPresence Media Manager instances FQDN of both the RealPresence Media Manager and RealPresence Capture Server Numbers and names of your organization s Virtual Recording Rooms (VRR) The date and time on the RealPresence Media Manager server and Polycom RSS 4000/RealPresence Capture Server must be synchronized. Caution: Integrating Polycom RSS 4000 and RealPresence Capture Server During Upgrades to RealPresence Media Manager version 6.6 If you are upgrading from RealPresence Media Manager 6.5 software to version 6.6, and were using virtual directories in your version 6.5 environment, you need set up new publishing points. RealPresence Media Manager 6.6 software does not support virtual directories and will delete them during the upgrade process. Polycom, Inc. 5

Administrator Accounts The first step to integrating RealPresence Media Manager with Polycom RSS 4000 or RealPresence Capture Server is to set up administrator accounts on all devices. Create a RealPresence Media Manager Administrator Account The first step is to log in to your Polycom RSS 4000 or RealPresence Capture Server and create a RealPresence Media Manager Administrator user. To create a RealPresence Media Manager Administrator user: 1 On a networked PC, open a browser and enter the IP address of the Polycom RSS 4000 or RealPresence Capture Server using the format http://<ipaddress> or http://fqdn. For example, enter http:172.22.123.56 or enter http://npirss.polycom.com 2 Select Admin Login (shown next). 3 Enter the administrator user name and password. The default user name is admin and the default password is Polycom123. 4 On the left pane, select User > Users, then click Add. 5 Enter the User ID, Full Name, and Password of your choice. Any name can be used to label the Media Manager administrator. Polycom, Inc. 6

Note: Password Requirements The password must meet the password requirements, which is a capital letter, 9 characters, and at least 1 number or a combination. 6 Select Administrator in the Role list (shown next) and enter a description (optional). 7 Click OK. The User will appear in the list of users, shown next. Note: Changing Your Password If you need to change the password, select Change Password located on the left toolbar. Add the Administrator User to an Admin Group Next, add the administrator user you created to an Admin Group on the Polycom RSS 4000 or RealPresence Capture Server. To add the administrator user to a group: 1 In the left pane, select User > Groups. 2 Select the Admins group and click Edit (shown below). Polycom, Inc. 7

3 In the top tabs, select Group Members. 4 Select the PRMM_Admin user from the top list and then click Add. PRMM_Admin is added to the group. Verify both the admin and PRMM_Admins are in the Group Members list as shown below. 5 Click OK. Admin Tip: Number of Admin Users Make sure there are at least two admin users in the Admin group, including the admin and the PRMM_Admin Create an Administrative Account on RealPresence Media Once you have created the administrator accounts on Polycom RSS 4000 or RealPresence Capture Server, you need to create the same administrator account on RealPresence Media Manager. To create an administrator account on RealPresence Media Manager: 1 Remote desktop into RealPresence Media Manager using the IP address of the RealPresence Media Manager. 2 Enter the user name and password using the default credentials and click Connect. User name: PRMMAPPLIANCE\Administrator Polycom, Inc. 8

Password: Polycom789 3 On the screen that appears, search for create an account. The server will automatically search for the account creation program. 4 Click Settings then click Create an Account. 5 On the next window, click Add a user account. 6 On the Add a user screen, enter the same user name and password that you used as the RealPresence Media Manager administrator on RSS4000 or RealPresence Capture Server. Click Next and then click Finish. 7 On the Change an Account screen, select the account you just created and click Change the account type. Polycom, Inc. 9

8 Select Administrator and click Change Account Type. Exit from the application when finished. Polycom, Inc. 10

Templates Once you have created your administrator user and added it to the Administrator Group, you can create new recording, transcoding, and VRR templates on the Polycom RSS 4000 or RealPresence Capture Server. Recording Template To create a new recording template: 1 In the left menu, select Template > Recording Templates, then click Add. 2 Enter the following information: Template Name: Enter a descriptive name Check the box next to Live Streaming In the Call tab configure the following settings: Max Call Rate (Kbps):Customer dependent, default is 768 Max Resolution: 1280x720P (120x720) Check the box next to Enable LPR Indication Tone: Customer depending, usual setting is OFF Media Encryption Type: Default is When Available Polycom, Inc. 11

In the Archiving tab, configure the following setting: Check the box next to Start Recording Immediately In the Live Streaming tab configure the following settings: Media Type: MP4 Check the box next to Enable H.264 High Profile for Live Streaming Primary Streaming Rate: 768 Secondary Streaming Rate: 384 Layout: Single Window with Large Content (people2) Set Enable H.264 High Profile for Live Streaming 3 Click OK. The final recording template is shown next. Transcoding Template To create a new transcoding template: 1 In the left menu, select Template > Transcoding Templates, then click Add. Polycom, Inc. 12

2 Enter the following information: Template Name: Enter a descriptive name Media Type: MP4 In the Video tab configure the following settings: Bit Rate:768 Video Type: H264 Frame Rate: As Source File Max Resolution: 1280x720P (120x720) Aspect Ratio: Auto Layout: Single Window with Large Content (people2) In the Snapshot tab, configure the following setting: Check the box next to Snapshot Enable Polycom, Inc. 13

3 Click OK. The final transcoding template is shown next. VRR Template To create a new VRR template: 1 In the left menu, select Template > VVRs, then click Add. 2 Enter the VVR Name, VVR Number, and Description (optional) information in the appropriate fields. 3 Set the Recording Template to PRMM Template. 4 In the Transcoding Template section, select PRMM Transcoding Template in the Available Templates box and click Add to move it to the Selected Templates box. 5 Click Add next to Live Streaming Server. 6 Set the Streaming List rate to 768 Kbps and click Save. Note: Only one server is allowed per VRR. 7 If you want the system to send an email when a stream has started or stopped, enter a valid email address in the Email Address field and click OK. Content Creation Profiles Once you have created the templates on the RSS4000 or RealPresence Capture Server, you must use the RealPresence Media Manager Admin Tool to create or configure content creation profiles. Create Default Content Creation Profile To create the default content creation profile: 1 Log in to RealPresence Media Manager. The default User Name is admin@polycom.com and the default password is Polycom456. 2 On the bottom left toolbar, select Network Resources. 3 Open the Content Creation Profiles tab. 4 Right click on Default Content Creation Profile and select Properties. A single default event has been created for your use on the first rule that is shown below. You must create another event for any additional rules that you create. 5 Select the Destination Categories tab as shown next. Polycom, Inc. 16

6 Click New Destination Category Rule and select Polycom RSS 4000/Capture Server VRRs as shown next. 7 Click on the RSS tab and enter the following information: Destination Category: click the box Notice the left tool bar changes to the Media Manager Portal. Select the tab next to Media Manager Root to expand the tree. Select the tab next to your RealPresence Media Manager instance or appliance to expand the tree Polycom, Inc. 17

Select Default Category and then click Add. Check the box next to Set Content Online To the right of Polycom RSS/Capture Server VRRs, click Refresh. You might have to click the Refresh button a few times so the Available RSS or Capture Severs get displayed. Click on the tab next to Available RSS4000s/Capture Servers. Click on the tab next to Capture Server Content Source Profile. Select the available VRRs that will be used. 8 Click Save. Both a rule (bottom entry) and event (top entry) are created, as shown next. Create an Event For each rule, you must create an Event. However, RealPresence Media Manager Appliance systems come with a default event, so you do not need to create one if you wish to use the default event. If you do not see the event or wish to create a new one, continue with the information in this section. To create an Event: 1 Click New Destination Category Rule and select Events and UNC/URL, as shown next. A new tab will appear, as shown next: Polycom, Inc. 18

2 On the Destination Categories tab, click the button and fill in the following information: Click Default Category and click Add next to Destination Category. Check the box next to Set Content Online 3 Select the Thumbnail tab and fill in the following information: Check the box next to Thumbnail Generation Width (px): 240 Polycom, Inc. 19

Thumbnail Server: Default Content Server Thumbnail Start Time (hh/mm/ss): 1 second 4 Click Save and then click Close. Note: Transcoding The RealPresence Media Manager will do the transcoding. RealPresence Capture Server Content Source Profile To create the RealPresence Capture Server content source profile: 1 Log in to RealPresence Media Manager. The default User Name is admin@polycom.com and the default password is Polycom456. 2 On the bottom left toolbar, select Network Resources. 3 Open the Content Source Profiles tab, click New, and enter the following information: Polycom, Inc. 20

Name: Capture Server Content Source Profile Description: Capture Server Content Source Profile for Capture Server Available Portals: Select the portal you are running this from. Type: Select Polycom RSS 4000/Capture Server URL Path: Enter the URL path of Capture Server (https://<ipaddress> or https://<fqdn>) Note: This entry then opens another sequence of information Username and Password: This is an administrator user account that was created on the Capture Server. Set Automatic scan this server every X seconds to 10. Content Creation Profile: Select Default Content Creation Profile If you find that Capture Server Content Creation Profile is not located in the drop down box, verify that all the files in the work area are saved and closed. If a file is not saved, then the file name in the work area has an * in the title. Clear the checkbox next to Import Live Windows Media Calls Check the box next to Import Live H.264 Calls Check the box next to Import Archived Calls Clear the checkbox next to Import Windows Media Files Check the box next to Import MP4/MP3 Files and select Default Content Server from the drop down box Check the box next to Import New Content Only Polycom, Inc. 21

Virtual Recording Rooms (VRRs): Under Number of Archives, Version, and Virtual Meeting Rooms, click Refresh. Profiles from the RealPresence Capture Server will be copied here as shown next VRRs must be copied from the RealPresence Capture Server, or this profile cannot be saved, and profile must be created before you can continue. You must also verify that the version number coming from the RealPresence Capture Server is correct and that you have the right number of VRRs available. If VRRs are added to the RealPresence Capture Server, you must come back to this profile and Refresh to add in the new VRRs. 4 Click Save. To verify the profile was created correctly, close the Content Source Profile tab and reopen it. Polycom, Inc. 22

External Media Servers For live-streaming of MP4 content from an Polycom RSS 4000 version 8.0 and later, or RealPresence Capture Server, you need to publish to external media servers. RealPresence Media Manager software distributes the stream through an MSA. Supported media servers include the following: Wowza Media Server QuickTime Streaming Server Internet Information Service (IIS) 7 Media Services For more information about configuring Polycom RSS 4000 or RealPresence Capture Server appliances for external media servers, see the Polycom RealPresence Capture Server, Appliance Edition User s Guide. You need to meet the following conditions when configuring Polycom RSS 4000 or RealPresence Capture Server appliances and RealPresence Media Manager software for external media servers. Each Virtual Recording Room (VRR) requires its own external server definition for Publish Point.isml External servers must have VOD and FTP options enabled You need to add both the RSS and Event rules to the CCP s Destination Categories rules (described next). If you do not add the Events rule, live streams will not appear in the RealPresence Media Manager portal. If you set two bit rates, two buttons will display in the RealPresence Media Manager player. Enable IIS Authorization Setting To enable IIS authorization: 1 Go to Start > Internet Information Service (IIS) Manger. 2 In the left-hand menu, click Media Manager Portal, Content, and then Media. 3 In the Media Manager Portal Home window that displays, click Authentication. 4 Select Windows Authentication and click Enable. The Windows Authentication should change to Enabled status as shown following. Create Live Publishing Points on the IIS Server To create live publishing points on the IIS server: 1 Go to Start > Internet Information Service (IIS) Manger. Polycom, Inc. 24

2 In the left-hand menu, click Media Manager Portal, Content, and then Media. 3 In the Media Manager Portal Home window that displays, click Live Smooth Streaming Publishing Points. 4 In the Actions section on the right side of the screen, under Publishing Point, click Add to open the Add Publishing Point wizard. 5 In the Basics Settings tab, enter the file name with.isml as the file extension (example: Live1.isml). 6 In the Advanced Settings tab, configure the following: Clear the checkbox next to Archive media Check the box next to Allow client connections Select Enable DVR for recent content In the DVR window length (in minutes) field, enter 2 Clear the checkbox next to Allow server connections Check the box next to Start publishing point automatically upon first client request Add 2 minutes to Number of look ahead fragments In the Number of associated fragments field, enter 2 7 In the Mobile Devices tab, configure the following: Check the box next to Enable output to Apple mobile digital devices Check the box next to Enable ios 3.0 compatibility Click OK. 3 Add the following string into the file at the location shown in the following screen capture: <meta name="restartonencoderreconnect" content="true" /> 4 Save the file. 5 Exit out of the Windows Explorer window. Start Live Publishing Points on the IIS Server To start live publishing points in the IIS server: 1 In the left-hand menu, click Media Manager Portal and then Live. 2 Click Live Smooth Streaming Publishing Points. 3 Select <filename>.isml and click Start Publishing Point on the right toolbar. 4 Select <filename>lo.isml and click Start Publishing Point on the right toolbar. The state for each file should display as Starting. 5 Close all windows. Create External Media Server To create an external media server on RealPresence Capture Server: 1 From the RealPresence Capture Server left hand menu, select Server > IIS, then click Add. 2 Configure the IIS server with the following information: Server Name: Enter a name for the server Server Address: If configuring on the RealPresence Media Manager Appliance, add the IP address of the RealPresence Media Manager Server Port: 80 Check the box next to Enable Live Application Name: /content/media User Name and Password: Use the user name and password from the RealPresence Media Manager administrator account For the User Name entry, enter the name of the server in front of the user name (Example: PRMMAppliance\AdminUserName) Click Test to verify that the connection has been made as shown next. 3 Click OK to save the configuration. Admin Tip: Disabling Windows Firewall for Testing To successfully test RealPresence Capture Server, you may need to disable the Windows Firewall on the RealPresence Media Manager Server. This can be done by going to Control Panel> Windows Firewall> Turn Windows Firewall on or off. Reset the IIS Server To reset the IIS server: 1 Remotely login into RealPresence Media Manager. 2 Click Start and select Windows Powershell. 3 Type iisreset. After resetting the IIS server, verify that the publishing points are running. To verify that the publishing points are running: 1 In the left-hand menu, click Media Manager Portal and then Live. 2 Click Live Smooth Streaming Publishing Points. Polycom, Inc. 31
