office..if you are a NON UE citizen and your stay in Italy will be longer than 90 days, you will need an Italian stay permit. All NON-EU citizens who hold a valid student visa for Italy have to apply for a permit of stay for study purposes ( Permesso di soggiorno per studio ). office STEP 1: fill the residence permit application The residence permit application kit ( KIT per il permesso di soggiorno ) is a yellow stripe envelope that can be taken at the authorized Post Offices (the main one is located in Corso Garibaldi, 25 - PADOVA). Available free of charge. Come to office in order to fill the application and check your documents for your stay permit for study purposes.
office STEP 1: the residence permit application In order to fill the application, you are required to bring at office: 1. copy of your passport containing personal data + student Visa page; 2. the confirmation of your arrival received by the International Relations Office or by the University of Padua; 3. copy of the statement certifying the course of study to be taken - enrollment; 4. the confirmation of your accommodation received by the SASSA services or your house contract or comunicazione di ospitalità (hospitality declaration); 5. copy of the Medical Insurance (available in Italy); 6. a 16,00 Euro revenue stamp ( marca da bollo, to be bought at tobacconists ); 7. your Italian tax code* ( codice fiscale ), only if you have it.
office STEP 2: send your residence permit application You are required to send the kit for the residence permit at the Post Office. Do not forget to put inside the envelop only copy of the documents required, not original documents! * AT THE POST OFFICE: - bring with you your passport in original; - you will pay: 107,50 for the Electronic Permit of Stay + 30,00 Application Fee
office STEP 3: post office receipt and appointment After your payment THE POST OFFICER WILL GIVE YOU BACK TWO VERY IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS 1.The post office receipt with PASSWORD code needed to check the state of progress of the application online at http://questure.poliziadistato.it/stranieri/?mi me=1&lang=en Bring it always with you! It certify your legal status in Italy until you receive the electronic stay permit In the website, write only numbers of your password code (starting from 06)
office STEP 3: post office receipt and appointment After your payment THE POST OFFICER WILL GIVE YOU BACK TWO VERY IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS 2. A letter with your appointment date and time at the Police Station (Immigration Office, Questura ) to do interview and to complete the final step required.
office STEP 4: fingerprint / interview at the local police station At the appointment ( Questura - Immigration Office located in Riviera Ruzzante, 15) you are required to bring with you: - 4 ID photos; - documents in original that you have sent inside the kit envelope. * Remember, for your first residence permit card, at the local police station you will sign the Integration Act (Accordo di Integrazione): the civil education and Italian language curse are not compulsory.
office STEP 5: SMS to get your stay permit Usually, after 4 weeks since you ve been at the police station for the interview your electronic stay permit will be ready for collection. You will receive an SMS in your mobile phone containing the date of your appointment to get your residence permit card at the local Police Station. ( Questura Immigration Office located in Riviera Ruzzante, 15) If you do not receive any SMS please come to office to check your application and to fix your issues in order to get residence permit card!
