The Third Sector in Skåne More than 50% of the population in Skåne involved in the Third Sector Includes culture, sports, politics, outdoor activities and more 21.000 organisations (associations, foundations, cooperatives) Of which 14.000 voluntary associations Sports largest part 2.500 associations

What is the social economy? Social Economy refers to organised activities that have a primarily societal purpose Builds on democratic values and is organisationally independent of the public sector Social and economic activities are run mainly in associations, cooperatives, foundations and similar organisations Activities are of general utility or benefit to their members or society, but not primarily profit-driven

Vision The Third Sector in Skåne constitutes a natural powerful player that on equal terms, together with society s other players, contribhutes to welfare development in a vigorous Skåne, characterised by growth, power of attraction, bouyancy and balance

The Purpose of the Agreement is to create a long-term sustainable Skåne by strengthening the interaction between the public sector and the third sector This will strenghen democracy, increase participation and decrease isolation

The Agreement was signed in June 2010 By Region Skåne through the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee and the Third Sector in Skåne through the Chairman of the Social Economic Network Skåne

Framework for an Agreement The fundamental values are based on six principles: Autonomy and independence Dialogue Quality Continuity Transparency Diversity
