B Honours Bachelor Degrees (Level 8) The general minimum Leaving Certificate entry requirement is a pass (grade D3 or better) in six Leaving Certificate subjects including English or Irish and Mathematics, two of which must be passed in higher level papers at Grade C3 or higher. As a result of demand for places a selection scheme under which applicants are ranked in order of merit on their Leaving Certificate performance is applied to establish the cut off point for each programme. *Programmes with Additional Entry Requirements PROGRAMME Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Medical Science (GA785) Bachelor of Science (Honours) in General Nursing (GA880) and Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychiatric Nursing (GA882) BSc (Honours) in Education (Design Graphics and Construction) (GA980) Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Art (GA273) Accounting Technician (GA160) Requirements A science subject and an Ordinary C3 in Mathematics A laboratory science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Physics and Chemistry (joint) or Agricultural Science). Higher C3 in Design and Communication Graphics or Construction Studies. Refer to the GMIT Prospectus and/or the CAO Handbook for details of application and selection procedures. The Prospectus is available online at www.gmit.ie Pass in five Leaving Certificate subjects with a minimum of 140 points. Foundation Level Mathematics at B2 minimum is accepted as one of the five.* No portfolio required. Pass in five Leaving Certificate subjects or four passes with two on Higher Level papers with a minimum of 140 points. The subjects passed must include English or Irish and Mathematics or Accounting.
