Workshop on Capacity Building in Developing Countries (Aug 22) Participants voted on the most popular challenge and solution Challenge: Countries are not aware of their health informatics workforce needs (in contrast to knowing the number of doctors, nurses they need) Solution: Countries should set up taskforces for exploring the health informatics needs in various sectors of public health (eg, hospitals, ministry, pharmacies) and use that to guide development of HI capacity building projects
Workshop on Capacity Building in Developing Countries (Aug 22) Action: could be a call to governments to setup local task forces to obtain training needs and consolidating them into an international health informatics curriculum (for developing countries)
IMIA WG on Standards (Aug 23) Agreements o Provide forum for countries to collaborate on standards o Online ehealth Standards and Interoperability Training Program o Facilitate common data architecture (same objective as WG Open Source) o Propose work items for developing countries o Facilitate global dialogue on ehealth standards and interoperability
