ANNEXURE I INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES General Rules and Guidelines: 1. Application form enclosed in Annexure II should be filled and submitted while entering the contest. 2. The entry needs to be confirmed on or before 17.07.2015 through e-mail and the team can reach the respective venue of their convenience. 3. Application form should be attested by the Head of the Institute for getting admitted in the contested. 4. A Mobile application need to be developed in Android Platform or any other platforms. 5. Socially relevant applications are appreciated, these applications must able to run in offline mode and online mode is essential. 6. App development may include the following concepts Sensor based application, connecting the apps with web base server, GPS based interactions, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth Communication, Image processing, Video and Audio Streaming, Google API integration, Security features, Mobile based control application, Remote server, Gaming with high Graphics and Control application etc. 7. The score may awarded based on the following categories a. User and System Requirements b. Working Functionality ( i.e both offline and online) c. Database Components d. User interface Design e. Technology Used f. Validation and Verification g. Security Components or Equivalent Components 8. Team size is restricted to 2 members only. 9. The application development environment can be decided by the user. 10. After the first round the team may not allowed to continue the event if their ideas are not up to the level expectation of the committee members. 11. If anything find as unusual circumstance the team will be disqualified immediately.
12. Judgment given by the committee member is the final. Round 1: Rules for Preliminary Events: 1. Individuals must propose and present their project ideas in the corresponding venue on the respective date and based on that they will be selected for the Final Round. 2. Developed application should be genuine and should not violate or replicate existing mobile applications. Round 2: Rules for Final Events: 1. The team must develop the application based on the proposal submitted. 2. Proper Screen Size must be maintained. 3. Application can be developed on any platform and finally the Apk File must be submitted. 4. Necessary tools and software s should be brought by the participants. 5. Unnecessary interactions during contest between the teams are not permitted and it results in elimination.
6. Duration of the contest is 24 hours. Contest commences at 3.00 PM on 29.07.2015 and ends at 3.00 PM on 30.07.2015. The team members should stay in Anna University and develop their App. 7. Teams once entered for contest will not be permitted to move anywhere until the contest duration is over. 8. Travelling allowance will be provided with subject to the submission of tickets. 9. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Requirement for the application development The details of the project: 1. Screens - Screens (tabs) should be presented separately, with images available, presentations, and all other visual materials. 2. Social media integration- Clarify if your mobile app can be integrated with social media (Facebook, Twitter.). 3. Landscape or Portrait or Both mode- Clarify which mode to be implemented for the mobile app. 4. Offline work - Mention whether your mobile app should be able to store any data on the device. 5. Calendar based Scheduler Mention is there need for the scheduler either in offline mode or online mode. 6. Server collaboration - Clarify whether your mobile app will have to send any data from/to an external server. Provide some general description of the server part. 7. Printing features -Point out if your mobile app should be able to print the information, and, if so, what types of data will be made available for print. 8. In-app purchases integration - Mention if your mobile app users should be able to buy content inside the app, and, if so, what type of content will be sold. 9. Geo-location services - Point out whether or not your mobile app will have geo-data functionality. 10. Push notifications - Clarify if your app will have push notifications for enhanced user interaction, and, if so, what types of notifications will be implemented.
