Class Rules: My class rules are very simple. o We will respect each other. o Respect the computer lab and equipment. o Report any problems/issues immediately. o Be creative in your work. o If all else fails, go back to the first class rule. Passes: o Restroom passes; take the pass, use the restroom, return to class. o No passes for the first 10 minutes and the last 10 minutes of class. o No passes to coaches. You may go to another class if you need to do make up work or test in another class. o I am not supposed to write tardy passes to your next class. Handouts: Emergency Card Free/Reduced Meals Student Insurance Anti bullying letter Schedules ID Badges Student Code of Conduct Other Safety and Security: SBBC considers your safety and security to be one of the most important aspects of your school time, along with education. These concepts go hand in hand, if you feel safe and secure, then you will be a better learner. ID Badges; o It is used to identify you as someone who belongs at the school.

o You must have it at all times. o You may not enter class or leave class without having it on, using either a lanyard or a clip. o Must be visible above the waist. o Your lunch number is on the barcode, so you don t have to remember it. o Best practice is to wear it when you come on campus and take it off when you leave campus. Lockdown Procedures: o When certain codes are announced due to an incident in the area, a lockdown may occur. o This is for your safety in case someone in the area comes on campus that may be running from law enforcement or trying to harm students. o Restroom passes are restricted based on which code and lockdown is called. o The most restricted code does not allow for leaving the classroom for any reason. o In case of emergency, several procedures are in place, but you may have to use the alternative restroom (ie. Garbage can) Cell phones: o The use of cell phones is prohibited by SBBC policy. There is a phone in the classroom you may use in the case of an emergency. Anti bullying Policy: o SBBC has taken extensive steps to thwart bullying practices on it s school campuses. o Bullying can be described as: Bullying may involve, but is not limited to: 1. unwanted teasing 2. threatening 3. intimidating

4. stalking 5. cyberstalking 6. cyberbullying 7. physical violence 8. theft 9. sexual, religious, or racial harassment 10. public humiliation 11. destruction of school or personal property 12. social exclusion, including incitement and/or coercion 13. rumor or spreading of falsehoods o Bullying incidents will be taken seriously and could have extensive consequences. Any time you feel uncomfortable, threatened, or bullied, you need to tell a teacher, counselor, or administrator. Acceptable Use Policy: o As part of the Student Code of Conduct, you will sign the AUP. o The AUP outlines the acceptable practices for using computers and technology on school computers and campuses. o Cyber bullying and Cyber stalking are both parts of the Anti bullying policy as well. Computer Lab Responsibilities: o The computers are 5 years old, which is 125 in technology years o Treat them with respect (See class rules). o Report any missing parts or damage immediately. Another class does use the classroom. o Liquid and electricity are natural enemies, and they may coexist as long as they don t come in contact with each other. o Food and liquids may be brought in, HOWEVER, they may not be near the computers. Tables are available so you can finish your breakfast. Keep liquid refreshments on the floor next to your computer desk. Clean up spills immediately.

o If I start having to pick up trash, the food and drink privileges will be taken away. Attendance and Tardy Policy: o Don t be absent or tardy. o If you are tardy, stop at the reception area by the main office (West gate entrance) for a pass. You cannot come into class without a pass. After 3 tardies per term, other annoying stuff happens, so don t be tardy. o If you are absent, have a parent/guardian call in ASAP. Unexcused absences can lead to numerous phone conversations with parents/guardians and other annoying stuff, so don t be absent. Schedule Changes: I m sure there is a form. You will have to fill it out and have a parent/guardian sign it and have a really good reason, like you ve already taken this class, or you took it in summer school or online. Digital Design Class Expectations: o Follow class policy and procedures. o Come to class everyday and on time. o Do your own work, and do it on time. o You will have time for make up work. o No homework. o Zero tolerance for cheating and all parties involved will receive a zero grade for the assignment(s). o Assignments have step by step processes for you to follow. Read each instruction carefully and you should have no problem. o You may always do more than expected. o You may use images as long as they comply with SBBC policy. Because you will be changing images and making them into new images, the Fair Use of

copyrighted material is being followed. Plus, we are not using images to sell products or promote anything bad or misleading. Computer Procedures o Logging into the computer. o Use your student number to login o Use your previous password you created last year. o If you never use a Monarch High School computer, your first password is pass#### (last 4 digits of your student number). o Report any login issues, I am the one who fixes them anyway. o Teacher or Digital Design Drop Box. o This is where you will put all your assignments. o You may print out the assignment for yourself if you wish, but I only accept digital copies for grading. o To access the teacher drop boxes: Go (finder menu) to Connect to Server Type in monxserve01 in the window provided. Press the Connect button. Press the + button to save it. You will use it often. Your name or your student number will appear in the field, if not type in your student number. Then type in your password, which is the same password you use to login to the computer. The next window should show you a list of server access, choose the one called Teacher Drop Boxes. Locate my folder (Fuller) and drag your assignment to the drop box. You should get a message about not having access, but that s ok. Remember to keep a copy of the assignment in case it gets lost, or, and I have been known to do this, it gets deleted accidentally. o Assignment naming convention: The way you will name each assignment.

o LastNameFirstInitial_AssignmentName o Digital Design 1 class will save all Photoshop assignments as.jpeg o Student Server Folders: o Each of you will have your own server folders to create a backup of your work. This is important because, as I mentioned before, the computers are 5 years old and they forget how to start sometimes, which means I have to re image them and everything on them is replaced. o To access the student server folders, you follow the same procedure as you did accessing the teacher drop box. o Choose the class folder and use the spotlight tool to locate your folder. You have to choose the network version of your folder. o Backup your work a couple times a week should be sufficient. o End of Term Student Portfolio: o You will be creating a student portfolio of your work at the end of each term so you need to save all of your assignments.
