ABOUT PSYCHOLOGY & COUNSELING AAMU Psychology & Counseling Master s program is open to qualified students with diverse backgrounds who wish to develop or improve their academic and work qualifications in psychology and counseling The program offers a unique opportunity for students to study with faculty who are committed to helping students develop strengths in clinical practice and research as well as critical thinking skills and abilities necessary to integrate these domains The faculty endorse nurturing and supportive models of learning and teaching that combine coursework, research, and professional practice with emphasis on traditional mentorship relationships Students who are accepted into the program are assigned an academic adviser who will work with them through degree completion

GRADUATE PROGRAM PSYCHOLOGY & COUNSELING Master's degree in: 1. Clinical Psychology 2. Counseling Psychology 3. Counseling with a concentration Rehabilitation 4. School Counseling and Class A certification Ed.S. & Certifications: 1. Ed.S. degree and Class AA certification in School Counseling 2. Ed.S. degree and Class AA certification in School Psychology 3. TIME TO DEGREE The Master s degree may be completed on a full or part-time basis All work must be completed within a seven-year period Students may begin the Master s program in either the Fall or Spring semesters, or during one of the Summer sessions Most Master-level courses begin at 6:00 p.m., some begin at 4:00 p.m.

FINANCIAL AID Psychology & Counseling offers limited assistantship support to students in the Master s programs Many students are granted educational loans to help fund their tuition For information on other ways to finance your education, please visit the Financial Aid Office s webpage for alternative funding sources
