Wear protection specialists since 1995 Leading contractor Oil & Gas industry SERVICE 24 hours 7 days a week Trio OilTec Services was founded in 1999 and became part of the Castolin Eutectic Group in 2007. Since then, we have established a worldwide reputation as a technology leader of refurbishment services and parts production for the Oil and Gas industry. Using advanced welding and coating technologies and based upon many years of industry experience, we provide a wide variety of repair, rebuilding, wearfacing and production technologies for your valuable components. Core competences of Trio OilTec Services include stabilizer refurbishment, hardbanding of drill pipes, wearfacing of down hole assembly equipment and production of OEM parts subjected to high wear. The company is currently rapidly expanding its facilities and has recently put in service a world-class computer controlled 6 axis automated high density diode laser welding and laser cladding machine. We know that short lead-times may not be short enough - sometimes parts need instant repair. For this reason, we ensure 24 hour service on mechanical breakdowns, as well as collection and delivery service. Located in the heart of the Norwegian oil base in Stavanger, our aim is to provide clients with a non-stop service for all their wear control and engineering requirements ensuring continuity, quality and efficiency. Our customer base spreads worldwide. We have experience in extending the life of: stabilizers, kicker plates, pumps, valves, shafts, bearings, actuators, gates, drill bits, mills, cutter wheels, holeopeners, wear bands, subs.
Laser cladding is our thing Laser cladding is state - of - the - art for surface protection. High precision is often cited as an advantage this system offers but many others are notable, in particular for the oil industry. The low heat input keeps the dilution to a minimum and the alloy maintains its optimum wear-resistant properties. Also, the heat affected zone is very thin under the surface, part-distortion is avoided, thin walled components are not damaged and mechanical properties are not significantly modified. Finally, highly automated laser equipment ensures the process can be precisely reproduced, a homogeneous coating deposition and ultimately, constant and controlled quality, critical in high demanding environments. As a result, critical mag and non-mag components can carefully be protected with optimal coatings. Advantages: Low Heat, Precision, Speed The laser coating process provides a wide range of benefits compared with conventional arc and PTA welding processes: Heat input localised and short processing time Lowest dilution of 2 to 5% for maximum purity of the coating Distortions and HAZ smaller than any other welding processes. It can coat smaller and thinner pieces than conventional welding. Metallurgical fused bonding resulting in high bond strength. Very rapid coating solidification, producing very fine wear resistant microstructures. Dense, hard and smooth surface-finish coating for high coating quality. Unlimited coating thickness for rebuilding, repair or rapid prototyping. Precise coating thickness control and smooth surface for least postweld machining. High process stability, reliable and consistent results ideal for automated processes. Low noise level
The customer is king - our way of working and not just a slogan Laser cladding parts up to 15 m The laser coating process is one of the cladding processes which is used to fuse a desired alloy on a substrate material. The clad material may be similar to the substrate material in the case of repairs and rapid prototyping. The clad material may have a higher performance to offer enhanced corrosion resistance or wear resistance to protect a multitude of components. In the laser coating process, the filler alloy (in powder form) is injected into the laser beam, sprayed and welded onto the component in one single step. This process uses a laser beam to totally fuse the desired material onto a substrate material for superior wear resistance or for repair. Complete laser equipment is now available in our Stavanger premises. This equipment does not only include a laser cladding machine, it has also been designed to be closely linked to our engineering department. A three dimensional CAD & CAM software allows us to tailor the best hardfacing-pattern with you before production starts. The fully automated 6 axes CNC machine guarantees that parts up to 15 m are cladded according to the highest quality standards within a very short lead-time.
