With the experience of more than 25 years in producing Hard-facing Wires for all kinds of industrial applications DURUM is offering a wide range of crack-free iron based hard-facing wires. Most wires are Open Arc (no extra shielding gas or flux is required) and some wires can be re-applied on themselves. 3 DURMAT-AS-760 Hard-banding Wire Exceptional drill-pipe protection Unsurpassed casing protection Crack free deposit Low preheat application Easily welded and re-applied DURMAT AS-760 is a unique hard-banding wire developed by DURUM for the oil & gas drilling industry to offer maximum wear protection to both drill-pipe and casing. It contains minute refractory carbides in a highly corrosion resistant Nickel-Chromium matrix. It is applied at low (50 C) preheat which is most beneficial when applying on plastic lined drill-pipe. After service it can be re-applied onto itself without the need to remove worn hard-banding. Successfully tested and in use by a very large Australian gas producer that had been using a well-known American hard-banding material that had failed due to excessive cracking and breaking away from the drill-pipe while downhole. DURMAT AS-760 gave very high casing and drill-pipe wear protection and showed no signs of breaking away from the base material. 4 DURMAT - FD 653 GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS AND APPLICATIONS: DURMAT FD 653 is a tubular wire which produces a CMnSiNiBNb alloyed deposit for semi automatic and fully automatic surfacing. The weld metal has high hardenability and produces hardness up to 63 HRc even with relatively slow cooling rates. Crack resistance is good, provided adequate preheat and interpass temperature are applied, together with slow cooling after welding is completed. The deposit is tough and not sensitive to impact loads. It shows excellent resistance to impact in combination with abrasion. 5 DURMAT - TJ SPECIAL GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS AND APPLICATIONS: DURMAT TJ SPECIAL is a tubular wire which produces a CrMoWV alloyed deposit for semi automatic and fully automatic surfacing. The weld metal has high hardenability and produces a hardness up to 60 HRc even with relatively slow cooling rates. Crack resistance is good, provided adequate preheat and interpass temperature are applied, together with slow cooling after welding is completed. Resistance to tempering is good. Good corrosion protection. Has to be applied by MIG Welding with Argon S1 as shielding gas. Dense (porosity <3%) and smooth layers with matrix hardness of up to 50-60HRC. 6 DURMAT - AS 760 APPLICATION: Ni-Cr-B-Si-Flux-cored wire with 10-15% primary carbides. High resistance against wear and corrosion, e.g. chemical fluids containing abrasive particles. Has to be applied by using the MIG process and Argon S1 as shielding gas. Dense (porosity <3%) and smooth layers with hardness of up to HV. TYPICAL CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF WELD METAL: C B Ni Cr C Si SC PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS Hardness of Matrix: HV 0,1 Patent: EP DURMAT - NI-2 PLUS GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS: DURMAT NI-2 PLUS is a cored metal wire filled with a combination of very hard special carbides together with fused tungsten carbides and Ni-Cr-B-Si-for semi-automatic welding application. DURMAT NI-2 PLUS was developed to protect surfaces against extreme abrasive wear in combination with corrosion attacks. The alloy has a low melting range of between C (1,652 1,922 F) and feature a self fluxing characteristic producing a smooth and clean surface. The matrix is highly resistant to acids, bases, lye s and other corrosive media. APPLICATION: Repairing and hard facing ferritic and austenitic steel tools and machine parts (steel castings). Specially developed for semi and fully automatic welding on tool joints and stabilizers in the petroleum industry.
