Institutional Scholarships All institutional scholarships require the following information submitted by the deadline date: a completed application for admissions, all official transcripts on file in the Athens State Admissions Office; all admissions requirements met; two letters of recommendation from faculty at transfer institution to be uploaded by student into electronic application; a student essay addressing what you have to offer Athens State University, any extracurricular activities and honors to be uploaded by student into electronic application. Presidential Scholarships are awarded to new entering students based on outstanding academic achievement and leadership. Requirements: 4.0 grade point average minimum; completed application for admissions by deadline date; all official transcripts on file in the Athens State Admissions Office by the deadline date; all admissions requirements met; two letters of recommendation from faculty at transfer institution. The scholarship is a full tuition award and waives fees. Academic Scholarships are awarded to new entering students with outstanding academic achievements. Requirements: 3.5 grade point average minimum; completed application for admissions by deadline date; all official transcripts on file in the Athens State Admissions Office by the deadline date; all admissions requirements met; two letters of recommendation from faculty at transfer institution. The scholarship is a tuition waiver. Award amounts vary. Student Activities Leadership Scholarships are awarded to new entering students who demonstrate leadership qualities through participation with clubs and organizations. These students will assist with campus activities through the Student Activities Office. Requirements: 3.0 grade point average minimum; completed application for admissions by deadline date; all official transcripts on file in the Athens State Admissions Office by the deadline date; all admissions requirements met; two letters of recommendation from faculty at transfer institution; resume uploaded by student. Awards vary. Athenian Scholarships are awarded to an Editor and Assistant Editor(s) of the University newspaper. These outstanding students will oversee the publication of The Athenian. Requirements: 3.0 grade point average minimum; completed application for admissions by deadline date; all official transcripts on file in the Athens State Admissions Office by the deadline date; all admissions requirements met; two letters of recommendation from faculty at transfer institution; submit a writing sample. Awards vary. Golf Scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates leadership qualities through clubs and organizations at transfer institution. The scholarship will be made available in two disbursements (fall/spring) and may be applied to tuition, fees and/or books purchased from the University Bookstore. Requirements: a minimum 3.0 grade point average; completed application for admissions by deadline date; all official transcripts on file in the Athens State Admissions Office by the deadline date; two letters of recommendation from faculty at transfer institution; maintain at least half time status (6 credit hours per semester); not drop any classes past the drop/add period; and must work all Alumni events (approximately 20 hrs per semester). Hours to be determined by the Calendar of Events, Director of Alumni Affairs and Alumni Association Board of Directors. The deadline date for this scholarship is May 30.

Art Scholarship is awarded to a new entering student with outstanding potential as an art major. Requirements: 2.75 grade point average minimum; completed application for admissions by deadline date; completed application for admissions by deadline date; all official transcripts on file in the Athens State Admissions Office by the deadline date; all admissions requirements met; all program prerequisites met; must enroll at least half-time (6 hours); portfolio review is required. The scholarship is a tuition waiver. Award amounts vary. The deadline date for this scholarship is May 30. Athens State University Need-Based Scholarship Program Need-Based Scholarships are awarded to new entering students who meet specific criteria regarding their financial need. Requirements: 2.0 grade point average minimum, but GPA is a serious consideration; all admissions requirements met; two letters of recommendation from faculty at transfer institution; all official transcripts on file in the Athens State Admissions Office by the deadline date; Admissions Application completed by deadline date; qualify for the Federal Pell Grant Program; complete the verification process, if required. The scholarship is a tuition waiver. Award amounts vary. The deadline date for this scholarship is July 1. Foundation Scholarships The Athens State University Foundation has numerous scholarships available. Applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation, copies of transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, and write a short essay addressing your financial need, including the scholarships and financial aid you have already received, what you have to offer Athens State University, and state any extracurricular activities and honors. Review of these scholarships will begin on May 1. Check full list on website North Alabama International Trade Association Scholarships 2013-14 are awarded to individuals who have been accepted to Athens State University. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, be enrolled as a student for the fall and spring semesters, and be a International Business minor. Review of these scholarships will begin on June 15. NAITA Scholarship Application Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarship is awarded to an entering student and current member in good standing of a Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. Students must have a 3.25 GPA and submit an application packet for consideration. The award is a tuition waiver of $1600.00 for two academic years. Up to ten awards are made annually. Awardees are required to perform up to 20 service hours to the ASU Phi Theta Kappa Alumni Association each year. The student must have a minimum of sophomore standing and be eligible for admission to Athens State University. The application packet must include: a letter of nomination from the Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Sponsor at the student s community college; application for admissions to Athens State; unofficial student transcripts, and student resume. The nomination letter must include verification of student s active membership, membership number, offices held, activities and evidence of leadership and service. The student resume must include involvement with Phi Theta Kappa and/or other college or community organizations, including offices held, and evidence of leadership and service. The extended deadline is July 1 for awards in the next academic year. Redstone Federal Credit Union Scholarships are awarded to individuals who are currently enrolled or have been accepted at Athens State University for the Fall Semester. Students can apply now at www.redfcu.org/about/scholarships or on Redstone s website at www.redfcu.org. Follett Scholarship is awarded to a student in good standing with Athens State University. Review of Applications begins August 1. Transfer Scholarships Incoming transfer students who are accepted for admission to Auburn University and have a minimum 3.0 cumulative transfer GPA receive automatic consideration for all General Scholarships for which they meet the criteria. The application for admission serves as the application for consideration of these scholarships; a separate application is not required. Priority consideration is given to transfer students who meet the February 1 application for admission deadline, have a minimum 3.5 cumulative transfer GPA, have earned a minimum of 45 transfer hours, and demonstrate financial need. Transfer students with the highest transfer GPAs and the greatest number of transfer hours are more likely to receive awards. For a list of General Scholarships which give preference to transfer students, click here. Incoming transfer students may also receive consideration for Departmental Scholarships. Students should contact the college/school and department in which they plan to major for Departmental Scholarship opportunities. To receive consideration for need-based General and Departmental Scholarships, incoming transfer students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available online beginning January 1. The FAFSA must be received by Auburn University by the financial aid priority deadline of March 1. Auburn Sponsored Transfer Scholarships All-Alabama Academic Team (Phi Theta Kappa)

Transfer Student Scholarships Admission Deadline at Birmingham Southern Early Action Dec. 1 Jan. 15 Regular Decision Feb. 1 Feb. 15 To be eligible for transfer student scholarships, students must apply and be accepted to Birmingham- Southern with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship Phi Theta Kappa members with a GPA of 3.5 or higher are eligible for an annual renewable scholarship of up to $16,000. Transfer Student Scholarship Students who are transferring from a two-year or four-year college are eligible for scholarships up to $10,000. Minimum GPA is 3.0. The JSU application period is October 1, 2012 - March 1, 2013. PRESIDENTAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED: This scholarship goes straight to Dr. Campbell s office. They usually receive it sometime early spring. You have to submit a resume with name, address, social security number, hours attended at NACC, and GPA to Mrs. Pat Wildman in the president s office. Have to 3.5 GPA and never attended JSU before. Turn in this material by March 1, 2013 to be considered. JSU Departmental, Undergraduate and other scholarship page: http://www.jsu.edu/finaid/scholarships/types.html 2013 Transfer Scholarships: Deadline Wednesday, May 1, 2013 Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship: $2800/year Membership in PTK must be in good standing To be considered for a PTK Scholarship, a student must apply (which requires an application, application fee, and all transcripts) to the University and have a letter of recommendation from a PTK advisor submitted by May 1, 2013. The letter should provide documentation that the student is in good standing with PTK. There is no separate formal scholarship application. Transfer students enrolling in the fall semester each year will be considered for a $1,000 per year scholarship Qualifications are based on the GPA by the USA Office of Admissions. To be considered, students must apply for admission to USA and have the official two-year college transcripts mailed to USA Admissions by May 1. USA will award four (4) Phi Theta Kappa scholarships per year. Phi Theta Kappa members enrolling in the Fall Semester each year will be considered for $1,500 per year scholarships (two year maximum). Qualifications are based on a minimum grade-point average of 3.70, as computed by the USA Office of Admissions, with thirty (30) or more earned hours at the two-year institution. To be considered, students must apply for admission to USA and have their official college transcripts mailed to USA Admissions by May 1. Phi Theta Kappa members must also submit a letter of recommendation from their two-year college PTK advisor with the application for admission. Awards are made in mid-summer. Please visit USA s Scholarship page for more information about Alumni and Departmental Scholarships: http://www.southalabama.edu/admissions/ugscholartransfer.html Scholarships for Transfer Students Transfer students must submit the following by March 1 prior to their intended fall enrollment in order to receive priority consideration for academic scholarships: Complete the application for admission Complete the application for scholarships Step-by-step instructions for completing the scholarship application Official college transcripts from all colleges attended Required scholarship documentation (if applicable) While the majority of transfer scholarships are limited to students transferring from a 2-year community college, the Alumni Scholarship Program does have a limited number of scholarships available for students who are transferring from a 4-year college/university. All transfer scholarships are for the fall term of the student's transfer year.

To complete the scholarship application, go to mybama, log in, click the Academics tab, and select the Application for Scholarships link in the Admissions box. Once a scholarship application has been submitted, changes cannot be made to the application online. All changes must be submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Scholarships using our contact form. To be considered for the following scholarships, students must be admitted based on materials received by March 1 before the fall they plan to enroll and transfer from a 2-year college (with at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA over 2 years of coursework): Alabama's Promise Student Financial Aid provides 5 Community College Honors Scholarships Tuition for two years (student must transfer as a junior from an Alabama community college) National Alumni Association awards 10 Community College Honors Scholarships $1500 per year plus a book grant of $300 for two years (student must transfer as a junior with demonstrated leadership skills) Undergraduate Admissions awards 5 scholarships to All-Alabama Academic Team members $1000 per year for two years plus a book grant of $300 for two years (student must be named to the team and enroll during the fall) Undergraduate Admissions awards 5 Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships $1000 per year for two years (student must be a member of the PTK organization at a community college) The Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration awards 10 Entrepreneurial Scholarships $1000 per year for two years The College of Continuing Studies, Adult Student Programs, awards scholarships to students ages 25 and older. Variable scholarships are available to, but not earmarked for, transfer students in Arts & Sciences, Communication & Information Sciences, Education, Engineering, Human Environmental Sciences, Nursing, and Social Work Scholarship Page: http://scholarships.ua.edu/transfer/ To be eligible for academic scholarships at UAB, transfer students must be admitted by March 1 for the upcoming summer or fall semester. New students transferring from 2-year community colleges are automatically considered for all university-wide academic scholarships upon admission to UAB. All scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis as funds are available, and are renewable for two years. To be considered, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and have earned at least 45 semester hours of academic coursework (60 semester hours upon transfer to UAB). International students, parttime students, and students with previous coursework from another 4-year institution will not be considered.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship Renewable scholarship for 2 years $3,000 per year Phi Theta Kappa member and 3.5-4.0 GPA Membership must be noted on your official community college transcript. Faculty sponsors may also submit a letter on school letterhead to UAB Undergraduate Admission, verifying your membership, if it is not noted on your transcript. All documentation must be received by the March 1 deadline. Transfer Excellence Scholarship Renewable scholarship for 2 years $1,500 per year 3.75-4.0 GPA Transfer Scholarship of Distinction Renewable scholarship for 2 years $1,000 per year 3.5-3.74 GPA Please visit UAB s scholarship page for additional information on departmental scholarships: https://www.uab.edu/students/undergraduate-admissions/transfer/paying-for-college-alabamaresidents/scholarships TRANSFER STUDENTS All transfer students are eligible to compete for UAHuntsville endowed scholarships. The submission priority date is December 1, please see the listing of available scholarships and to apply, access the online scholarship application. For information on filling out the application, go to the help page. When a student submits a scholarship application, it is disseminated to the college/school in which you will major (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business, Engineering, etc.) for scholarship consideration. Students are not responsible for submitting numerous applications to different departments.

TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIPS First-time regularly admitted transfer students who have earned a minimum of 24 transfer credits from an accredited institution of higher learning are considered for a one-time transfer scholarship award. The UAH Super Scholar Transfer Scholarship requires a minimum 3.50 cumulative college GPA and is currently valued at $3,500 plus a $500 textbook stipend, renewable for an additional year. The UAH Transfer Merit Scholarship requires a minimum 3.00 cumulative college GPA and is currently valued at $2,000 plus a $500 textbook stipend, renewable for an additional year. Eligible students should submit a UAHuntsville Scholarship Application to apply. Deadline: admission to the University by April 1. *Community College Presidents Scholarships $3,000. Twenty-four scholarships are available to transfer students from junior and community colleges. A minimum 3.25 GPA is required for scholarship consideration. The award may be combined with another transfer scholarship. Deadline: Admission to the University by April 1. Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship $1,000. Fifteen scholarships are available to junior and community college transfer students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa. The award may be combined with another transfer scholarship. Scholarships are renewable with a minimum cumulative 3.25 GPA at UM. Recipients are required to have oncampus residence. Community College Academic Awards are available to entering transfer students with a 3.25 or higher GPA. These awards range from $2,500 to $3,500 per year and are renewable for up to two academic years with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Must submit scholarship application. These awards range from $2,500 to $3,500 per year and are renewable for up to two academic years with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Must submit scholarship application.
