1. Introduction (DTC) makes the world's first oil-free, magnetic bearing centrifugal compressor designed for the commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry. Using a combination of aerospace, magnetic bearing, and digital electronic technologies, its compressors are used in air and water-cooled chillers and rooftop units. The DTC compressor is one of the most energy efficient compressors in the industry. Hotels, hospitals, industrial facilities, office buildings, and schools are primary users of its products. DTC operates a 72,500 sq. ft., stage-one manufacturing plant in Tallahassee, Florida, USA and maintains offices in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. Danfoss Turbocor Learning Center DTC offers a series of training classes designed to provide the necessary information for selling, operating and servicing Turbocor products and their applications. We have made every effort to create a training program that is both informative and enjoyable. It consists of a selected schedule of learning sessions that we have developed according to your requirements. Highly qualified and field-experienced instructors of the DTC Learning Center will provide you with a high level of training. 5

3. Danfoss Turbocor Instructors Profile Arjen van den Hoek Arjen has over 20 years of experience in the HVAC industry. Prior to joining DTC as a Test Engineer in 2001, Arjen worked as a Project Engineer in the Building Automation Industry and as Project Manager of Controls in the Process and Industrial Automation Industry. In his present position as a Senior Customer Support Engineer in Europe, Arjen provides onsite commissioning support for new OEMs, trains OEMs and their customers on the operation of the Turbocor compressor, and assists customers in application issues. Also, he contributes in developing new training material and manuals. Bruce White For more than 40 years, Bruce has worked in the Australian HVAC industry including more than 20 years with a major manufacturer of all types of equipment from centrifugal chillers to ½ hp window A/Cs, and 15 years in service management and engineering roles. Prior to joining DTC in 2008 for applications and training, Bruce spent nine years in Engineering and Application at a major Australian chiller manufacturer. Bruce currently manages the Customer Support and Service department in Tallahassee. Giuseppe Piol Giuseppe has over 14 years of experience in the HVAC industry. Prior to joining DTC in 2009, Giuseppe worked as European After-Sales Manager, Trainer, and Support Engineer for a leading European Air-conditioning Equipment Manufacturer. In his present position as a Technical Customer Support Engineer in Europe, Giuseppe provides on-site commissioning support for new OEMs, trains of OEMs and their customers on the operation of the Turbocor compressor, and assists customers in application issues. Heath Whiddon Heath has over 12 years of experience in the HVAC industry. As a field service technician, he installed, maintained, serviced, and repaired all types and brands of HVAC equipment including chillers, roof-top packaged systems, computer room cooling systems, pumps, and cooling towers. He has worked on most types of compressors including centrifugal, screw, reciprocating, and scroll. Since joining DTC in 2008 as a Compressor Technical Specialist, Heath provides global and regional technical support and training for owners, operators, and contractors. Furthermore, he contributes in developing and maintaining our service literature. Brian Selph Brian has around 17 years of experience in the HVAC industry. He has worked as a service technician and supervisor for a number of companies in the Florida/Georgia area. He is currently certified as a class A HVAC contractor in the state of Florida. Areas of experience and expertise include extensive Start up, troubleshooting and servicing central plant and centrifugal chillers, start up and servicing of close control commercial A/C units and servicing of residential A/C units. Brian is currently one of the Product Specialists that provide technical support and training to our OEM customers and industry personnel, a position he has held since joining Danfoss Turbocor in October 2010. 6

4. Registration To attend a course listed in this training catalog, please follow the instructions below: Select a course Review the course descriptions. To obtain the most effective training, carefully match your participants with the appropriate courses by evaluating the course content and objectives. If a class is full, we will inform you about attending an alternate course date. DTC reserves the right to change class dates or cancel classes. 5. Payment Current OEM Customer Purchase Order required. Non-Customer Pre-pay prior to registration, credit card or check. Purchase Order for the course fee After we receive your completed registration form, we will confirm receipt and class availability via e-mail. However, you are not considered registered until we receive the payment for the course cost either faxed to +1 850-201-2901 or emailed to training@turbocor.com (please include the name and email address of your Accounts Payable Supervisor). Advance Payment Required Payment in advance of the training course is mandatory; otherwise the participant will not be admitted. Confirmation of Registration A confirmation of registration will be sent to the participant by email after receipt of your payment. Please contact us if you do not receive a registration confirmation two weeks prior to the start of class. Do not make travel reservations until you have received our confirmation that you are registered. 7

6. Cancellation / Confirmation Policy Please confirm your class reservation at least 2 weeks prior to course start date. Cancellations must be made at least 30 days prior to the course start date to receive a full refund. Cancellations made three weeks prior to the course start date will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made 10 working days prior to the course start date. An alternate person may use a confirmed space without penalty and substitutions may be made up until the start of class. DTC reserves the right to make changes to the course content or schedule. In the unlikely event of a schedule change or cancellation of a training class, DTC is not responsible for associated cancellation fees. 7. Travel / Transportation Travel to and from the training location is the responsibility of the participant. NOTE: If you are traveling outside your country of origin, you must have a valid passport, visa, if required, and driver s license. 8. Hotel A list of hotels in Tallahassee with DTC preferred rates can be provided upon request with the class registration confirmation. Please make your own hotel arrangements. 9. Of Special Interest in Tallahassee If you are interested in staying longer than the course duration, we recommend that you check out our beautiful city and some of the wonderful things to do and see here. Take a look at our visitors bureau website at www.visittallahassee.com. 10. Training Materials Participants attending our classes will receive relevant training materials. It is highly recommended that all attendees bring a laptop to facilitate class training and to download required DTC service and start-up programs. 11. Factory Tours Factory tours are available during your stay in Tallahassee and will be included for all attendees during the first day of training. Paul Dirac Drive Tallahassee, FL 32310, USA Training at Your Facility, OEMs For your convenience, the DTC Learning Center also provides training at your facility. Total cost will be established based on class fees, instructor travel, and accommodation and meal expenses. Class fees are based on expenses and the number of participants. The OEMs are responsible for meals and out-of-pocket expenses for attendees, provision of training room/facilities and access to a working compressor. Dates to be agreed upon and are contingent on instructor availability. A minimum of four weeks prior notice is required. Any flight incremental cost due to short notice will be charged extra. Dates are to be agreed upon and are contingent on instructor availability. Training at Your Facility, Non OEMs For your convenience, the DTC Learning Center also provides training at your facility. Participants will explore the technology behind this new generation compressor, and its potential including the advantages of centrifugal compression with oil-free technology. An outline of financial and energy related rebate programs, green stars, leed points and converting savings to carbon credits is also covered. It also includes exploring case studies on various applications. COMPRESSOR THEORY & SYSTEM DESIGN 1 COURSE 103 TARGET GROUP PRE-REQUISITE CONTENT OEM design engineers Engineer with minimum of two years applied system design This course offers a fundamental understanding of the Turbocor compressor technology, application guidelines and engineering required for the design of new Turbocor powered OEM equipment. You will gain knowledge of monitoring tools needed to access compressor operation data and the basic compressor control system. It also provides the troubleshooting experience, and teaches complete commissioning and start-up procedures, as well as diagnostic procedures. The course also covers all aspects of system design guidelines and best practices used in designing DTC compressor into systems. This includes working on specific customer cases, providing advice and answering relevant questions. It provides knowledge of tools needed to access compressor operation data such as Service Monitoring Tool (SMT software) and provides an understanding of the compressor control system. The course also includes compressor commissioning procedures, troubleshooting, and maintenance guidelines and compressor service requirements. COMPRESSOR BASICS & MAINTENANCE COURSE 106 TARGET GROUP PRE-REQUISITE CONTENT Plant Operators, Owners and maintenance staff Minimum of one year plant operation experience The course covers the basics of the Turbocor compressor operation, its monitoring program, and provides a fundamental understanding of faults; fault resolution and compressor re-start procedures. In addition, the course provides the Plant Engineers an understanding of the compressor s operational characteristics and an explanation of how to use the monitoring program to evaluate the essential functions of the compressor. The OEM supplier provides the additional instruction required for the other operating components (i.e. controls, valves, etc.) of the manufactured equipment. It also describes troubleshooting, maintenance and service requirements for the compressor portion of the mentioned equipment. Note: This course does not provide any chiller system service training.
