2015-2016 Catalog Johnson County Community College Contact: Mindy Hunthrop Transfer Program to the University of Kansas Phone: 91-897-8568 Edwards Campus E-Mail: mindy.hunthrop@ku.edu Exercise Science Web: edwardscampus. ku.edu/exsci The Associate of Arts degree (A.A.) at JCCC is a general transfer degree and partners well with the first two years of most bachelor degree programs. Students pursuing the A.A. may select courses that satisfy both the A.A. degree requirements and lower division requirements for a bachelor s degree at four-year institutions. The elective hours within the A.A. allows students to complete additional general education and lower division courses required for specific majors. The A.A. degree requires completion of 64 credit hours, the maximum number of hours from a community college that will be applied toward a bachelor s degree at most four-year schools. Meeting with a JCCC counselor is strongly recommended for selection of appropriate courses. * Minimum cumulative and core GPA s of 2.75 (includes all transfer hours). * A minimum of 0 hours are required for admission to the School of Education, Exercise Science Program. * Transfer Students are encouraged to apply at admissions.ku.edu and be sure to select the Edwards Campus. Upon acceptance to KU, application materials will be reviewed for completion of program requirements, including completion of a minimum of 0 credit hours and GPA requirements. *Only transfer grades of C or higher will count toward KU degree requirements. * Minimum total hours for graduation is 120. * The Exercise Science program will prepare students for careers in physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, and many others. Admission requirements should be completed prior to the Exercise Science application process. Sixty-four credits may be transferred to KU from community colleges. Students should be aware that 45 junior/senior credit hours are required for completion of the bachelor s degree; 0 of those hours must be at KU; and community college courses do not transfer as junior/senior hours.
