LANDFILL GAS PLANTS We generate energy from landfill gas Asja is a major player in the international scenario of power generation from landfill gas generated at municipal solid waste (MSW) landfill sites. 5

BIOMASS POWER PLANTS We generate energy from biomass Asja designs, builds and manages plants that generate energy from the following biomass types: Organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW) Byproducts & Wastes produced from agro-industrial chain Vegetable oils 6

WIND FARMS We generate energy from wind Thanks to its long-standing experience in the sector of renewable sources, Asja designs, builds and manages wind farms of any size, extremely efficient and reliable. 7

PHOTOVOLTAIC PLANTS We generate energy from sun Asja directly designs and develops medium to largescale PV plants to transform sun rays into electrical power. Its accuracy and experience make Asja the preferred partner of any entity wishing to set up a PV plant. Roof-mounted pv system Fiera del Levante (Ba - Italy) 8

MICROCOGENERATION We work in energy efficiency Asja, with asjagen, works in the energy efficiency and microcogeneration. Thanks to an innovational patent, asjagen makes and commercialises the TOTEM, microcogenerator versatile units capable of adapting to various situations and necessities. 9

ASJA RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT Asja was selected, with an international public call among 89 enterprises, to occupy a space at the Business Research Center at Politecnico of Turin, a modern area dedicated to the collaboration between private enterprises and University. 10

CERTIFICATIONS ALL OUR PLANTS ARE CERTIFIED ISO 9001 / Quality: company process optimization to ensure an ever-increasing fulfilment of client requirements. BS OHSAS 18001 / Health and Safety: ongoing improvement in the protection of workers health and safety in the performance of their job activities. ISO 14001 e EMAS Registration / Environment: commitment based on awareness and respect for the environment, with a view to prevent and reduce pollution and to constantly improve. ASJA & RES4MED Asja is a member of RES4MED, an association for the development of renewables in the Mediterranean Area, with a particular focus on the Countries of Maghreb. PROJECT TARGETS Development of Renewable Energy in Mediterranean countries. Bring independent and stable electricity in off-grid areas, producing it in a sustainable way. Involve local people in the value chain by creating new jobs and knowledge. 12

MOROCCO A NEW WAY OF ENERGY PRODUCTION Morocco seeks to expand its renewable energy capacity with a goal of 42% of renewable electricity output by 2020. The renewable energy objective can be reached also through the introduction of: Anaerobic digestion plants (Waste & Biomass) Landfill gas plants Photovoltaic plants Wind farms Source: Office National de l Electricitè et de l Eau Potable-ONEE 13

BIOGAS INTRODUCING A NEW WAY OF PRODUCTION 14

MOROCCO: AGRICULTURAL & AGRO-INDUSTRIAL RESIDUES ANAEROBIC DIGESTION PLANTS Agricultural and agro-industrial residues can be used as sources of energy by means of the anaerobic digestion process. Agriculture is a key sector for Morocco s economy. The main agricultural products include: Olives, tomatoes, citrus fruit The main agro industry products are: olive oils, cheese, preserved or canned fruits and vegetables Source: The Statistics Division of the FAO - FAOSTAT 2012 15

MOROCCO: BIOGAS FROM OLIVE MILL RESIDUES ANAEROBIC DIGESTION PLANTS Morocco is the 5 th Country in the world for olive production Olive crop area: 968.123 ha Olive production: 1.315.794 tons/year Virgin olive oil: 120.100 tons/year Traditional oil mills facilities: 15.257 Continuous process facilities (2 or 3 phase): 288 Olive oil residues: 80% of olive processed * Asja developed a research project in Apulia Region (Italy) for the energy valorisation of olive mill residues via anaerobic digestion. *Source: Food and Agriculture Organization of the Unites Nations-FAOSTAT 2012; International Olice Council-IOC 2012 16

MOROCCO: BIOGAS FROM URBAN WASTES LANDFILL GAS PLANTS Landfill biogas plant With the urban population growing at 2,85% per year and per capita consumption increasing, municipal solid waste management has become one of the most serious environmental challenges in urban areas. The Morocco government has planned to manage this emergency through the PNDM *, a national municipal solid waste management program (2007-2021). Asja, thanks to its 20 years of experience in design, construction and management of landfill gas plants, can contribute significantly to the safety of the landfill, reducing harmful and greenhouse gas emissions and producing electric and thermal energy. * Programme National de Gestion des déchets ménagers et assimilés 17

Asja target in Morocco projects is the cooperation with local partners in designing, building and managing advanced systems to generate energy from renewable sources (biogas, biomass, wind, photovoltaic). 18
