SERVICING AND SPARES FOR YOUR SEATING Annual Servicing and Maintenance Replacement Parts Emergency Call-Out Upholstery and Refurbishment Cleaning Services Telephone +44 (0)1373 865050 Website www.audiencesystems.com

Why Service Your Seating? Audience Systems designs its seating systems for a long life with low maintenance. However, no matter how sturdy your seating system, it should still be regularly inspected and maintained by a professional servicing engineer. This will: Help you to identify and rectify potentially dangerous damage, which is not always obvious - for example to handrails or telescopic understructure. Assist you in fulfilling your legal obligations under PUWER and LOLER regulations (see inset). Provide you with a certificate of inspection to help you obtain relevant insurance and licences. Reassure you that you have done everything possible to ensure the safety of your staff and audience. The Regulations In the UK, retractable seating systems are covered by the Provision and Use of Working Equipment (PUWER) Regulations. These state that any equipment operated by your staff should be kept in efficient working order, and regularly inspected by a competent person with records kept of these inspections. If you have a mobile system, you also have an obligation to maintain any lifting equipment or trucks used under the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment (LOLER) Regulations. 2

Annual Servicing What Can You Do? Audience Systems offers a comprehensive annual servicing package for both our own and other manufacturers seating systems. Our package includes: A full yearly inspection and service Replacement of small parts Expert advice on maintenance and regulations Reminder when your service is due Emergency call-out Fixed-price extended contracts if required Call us for a quote on +44 (0)1373 865050 or alternatively email services@audiencesystems.com. There are a few things you can do to ensure that your seating is kept in the very best condition: Train Your Staff - Telescopic platforms should only be opened and closed by trained operatives. Audience Systems can offer full training. Write a Checklist This will help you eliminate the most common causes of damage. Before you retract a telescopic system, check for litter around the seats and obstructions below the platforms, and make sure all ancillary items such as rails and infills have been removed. Perform Regular Checks You should check your chairs once a week for damage, especially to support brackets and linkages. Parts We offer genuine replacement parts for Audience Systems seating and can also provide parts for other manufacturers products. Replacement of small parts and lubricants is included in our annual inspection, when we will also advise you if any additional work is required. You can also request additional parts at any time by calling us on +44 (0)1373 865050 or emailing services@audiencesystems.com. 3

Upholstery and Cleaning Services Upholstery Cleaning We employ a full-time team of professional upholsterers who can upholster and recondition any item from auditorium seating to the chairs in your office, classroom or reception area. We will collect items at a time to suit you, recondition or upholster them in our factory and then return and install them if required. We offer a complete cleaning service, which would normally coincide with your annual maintenance inspection - ensuring your seating not only works perfectly, but also looks as good as new. Our cleaning team uses industrial equipment and materials to clean both your chairs and your carpets, and can remove most ground-in stains including chewing gum, coffee and oils. 4

Additions and Accessories Audience Systems Service and Spares Department can help you adapt or upgrade your seating once it has been installed. The following pages show just a selection of the upgrades and accessories available; please contact us to discuss any further requirements. Upgrades for the TX Telescopic Platform System 1. Power Operation Fixed telescopic systems can be fitted with power operation to assist with opening and closing. The power operation system consists of one or more friction drives, which can be easily operated by one person using a detachable hand controller. A full specification is available on request. 1 2. Side Drapes Telescopic systems can be fitted with removable fabric drapes to cover the understructure and to prevent access below the platforms. 2 3 3. Side Panels Solid timber removable panels, in painted or beech lacquered finish, are also available to cover the sides of a telescopic system. 4. Aisle Letters Aisle letters can be fitted to the riser or tread of each aisle step to aid audience orientation. 4 5. Aisle Illumination Audience safety can be enhanced with your choice of aisle lighting system. Photoluminescent ( glow in the dark ) or LED nosing can be installed on the front and/or side of each aisle step. Alternatively a low voltage lighting system with optional battery back-up can be fitted. The lights are located behind angled louvres on each stair riser to avoid dazzling performers. 5 5

6. Extra Row of Seating An extra row of seating can be added in front of the telescopic unit to increase the overall seating capacity. 6 7 7. Hydraulic Trucks These trucks are used in pairs to lift mobile telescopic units and move them to their stored position. Upgrades to Chairs 8 8. Chair Covers These covers are used to upgrade plastic chairs to an upholstered specification. They fit snugly around the chair back and seat, and are fixed in place with Velcro. 9. Gas Dampers Gas dampers can be fitted to the chair fold down mechanism on a telescopic platform system to aid the raising and lowering of the chairs. 10. Seat Numbers / Row Letters Seat numbers and chair-mounted row letters are available in various forms to suit different chair types. 11. Sponsor s Plaque As an additional source of revenue, brass plaques can be added to chairs to display a sponsor s name or logo. 9 10 11 6

12 Extra Seating and Staging 12. Matrix System The Matrix floor bar system is Audience Systems totally unique seating solution for flat floor areas, which uses a system of removable floor bars to create straight, sturdy rows of chairs. The whole system can be easily assembled by one man and stored away in trolleys when not in use. 13 13. Matrix Trolleys Additional trolleys are available for existing Matrix systems. 14 15 Venue 100 Venue 128 14. Usherette Chairs These wall-mounted chairs have a very slim closed profile. 16 Venue 134 Venue 150 15. Modular Staging An adaptable construction with optional vertical adjustment, our modular staging system is simple to handle and easy to set up and use. A full range of accessories is available including transportation/ storage trolleys, access steps, side safety rails and decorative drapes. 16. Venue Chair Trolleys Various trolleys and stillages are available for transportation and storage of our flat floor chair range. 7

Audience Systems have been very good to us and the service they have provided has been second to none. I am very happy with all they have done, and continue to do, for the theatre. Ilia Constantinides, Facilities Supervisor, Sadlers Wells Theatre We continue to enjoy a prompt and courteous service from Audience Systems. Our retractable system is over ten years old, and we never have a problem getting the parts we require. Stuart Smith, Head of Scenic Operations, The London Studios As far as I am concerned, Audience Systems are the biggest name for seating. Their customer service and standard of work are always of the highest quality.
