This is not only a loss for the operator but also the company employing them. In order to minimize this loss, the operator needs full professional training, which we provide here at GTR. Through our training we ensure that each trainee receives the individual attention and time on the truck in order to, not only pass the course but be able to operate safely in a busy working environment. The fact that we are delivering our courses in a variety of languages means that we can help those people who have difficulty in speaking, reading or writing English into employment. We understand that some people have problems in getting a job due to English not being their mother tongue, we also run ESOL classes, so that successful candidates will be better equipped for employment. ESOL courses are English for Speakers of Other Languages and are a great method for people to begin understanding the English language and the English environment. 5 COURSE LIST & DETAILS Below is a summary of what the course entails in accordance with the ITSSAR standards. Novice 5 days This is the best type of course for someone who has never driven a forklift before or non Car Driver. Experienced 3 days This is the best type of course for someone who has some experience of driving a forklift and requires the necessary training to achieve a recognized certification. Refresher 1 day This is the best type of course for someone who has some experience of driving forklift trucks and is already certified but in accordance with the HSE recommendations, requires a Re- Test. What does the course cover? Introduction to Forklifts and Operator s Safety Code Loading, Unloading of vehicles, Picking Up and Setting Down Daily Pre-Operational Checks Safe use of Forklift Trucks in various workplaces Battery maintenance and refuelling of trucks Health and Safety at Work Act LOLER regulations 1998 PUWER regulations 1998 Approved Codes of Practice Responsibilities for an Employer and Employees Forklift Safety video Lots of practice Practical Test Theory Test consisting of 20 multiple choice questions and 5 written questions. On successful completion of any of our forklift training courses the operator will receive a nationally recognized ITSSAR forklift operator s certificate and licence. 5
