The eventlog shows (when the installation was done with Mainuser = 'Administrator') 10016 Src: DCOM Desc: application specific local activation {E36D3A64-1FCE-11D3-B2EF- 00104B066E1A} WINDREAMSOLO Administrator S-1-5-21-1957994488-1958367476-725345543-1007 and/or 0016 DCOM Desc: application specific local activation {E36D3A64-1FCE-11D3-B2EF- 00104B066E1A} NT-AUTORITY SYSTEM S-1-5-18 Reason: xp sp2 has new dcom authorizations. In addition to 'Start' there is a new 'Activation' authorization. The following settings have to be changed (Taskbar)Start - Execute - Dcomcnfg - Component Services - Computer - My Computer - DCOM-config - windream DMS-service (right mouseclick - properties) - Security - Launch and Activation Permissions a) 'customize' must be activated. (not 'Use Default') Click button to open the configuration dialog. b) On tabpage 'Launch Permission' set the Right 'Local Activation' separately for: - group: windream-users
6 Microsoft Windows XP SP 2 and windream - System - windream mainuser Important: 'Local Launch' and 'Remote Launch' must not be activated (empty check-mark). When using the dms-service locally the 'remote activation' is not necessary, but it can be activated. The attached screenshot shows the configuration, when 'Administrator' is the windream Mainuser. There is only the group 'windream-benutzer' selected. But also for the other two (Administrator, System) this right has to be activated, too. c) The same configuration for the DCOM start authorization has to be done for the windream Thumbnail service, if you want to use the service.
