Configuring Windows Firewall for Remote Connection in Windows XP SP2: Follow these steps to configure the new Windows XP SP2 Firewall to allow you to connect from a remote location: Note: this should be performed on the DVR Server, not the Remote Client. Easy Method (Disabling Windows Firewall) A. Finding the Security Center 1. Open the Control Panel from the Start Menu 2. Once the Control Panel Opens, find the Security Center and double-click it. 1

B. Disabling Windows Firewall 1. Click on Off (not recommended) then press OK to apply the settings. Your Win XP SP2 Windows Firewall has now been disabled Disclaimer: Ez-Toyz Inc. Advanced Method (Programming Windows Firewall Exceptions) A. Finding the Security Center 3. Open the Control Panel from the Start Menu 4. Once the Control Panel Opens, find the Security Center and double-click it. 3

B. Programming Alnet Firewall Exceptions This Section for ALNET Systems ONLY! 1. Adding Alnet Port #1 3. Type in Alnet VDR-S 9000 TCP in the Name. 4. Type 9000 in the Port Number 5. Click the TCP button 2. Adding Alnet Port #2 3. Type in Alnet VDR-S 9000 UDP in the Name. 4. Type 9000 in the Port Number 5. Click the UDP button 3. Adding Alnet Port #3 3. Type in Alnet VDR-S 9001 TCP in the Name. 4. Type 9001 in the Port Number 5. Click the TCP button 4

4. Adding Alnet Port #4 7. Click on the Exceptions Tab 8. Click on the Add Port... Button 9. Type in Alnet VDR-S 9001 UDP in the Name. 10. Type 9001 in the Port Number 11. Click the UDP button 12. Click OK to add the Port 5. Double-Check your Settings 1. Once you have completed entering the 4 Alnet Systems Ports above, your Exceptions window should look something like this. Your Windows Firewall is now configured to accept Remote Connections for the Alnet Systems Inc. DVR Cards. 5

C. Programming SkyView Firewall Exceptions This Section for SkyView Systems ONLY! 1. Adding SkyView Port #1 3. Type in SkyView 1350 TCP in the Name. 4. Type 1350 in the Port Number 5. Click the TCP button 2. Adding SkyView Port #2 7. Click on the Exceptions Tab 8. Click on the Add Port... Button 9. Type in SkyView 1351 TCP in the Name. 10. Type 1351 in the Port Number 11. Click the TCP button 12. Click OK to add the Port 3. Adding SkyView Port #3 13. Click on the Exceptions Tab 14. Click on the Add Port... Button 15. Type in SkyView 1357 TCP in the Name. 16. Type 1357 in the Port Number 17. Click the TCP button 18. Click OK to add the Port 6

Your Windows Firewall is now configured to accept Remote Connections for the SkyView DVR Cards. 7

D. Programming Security Eyes Pro Firewall Exceptions This Section for Security Eyes ONLY! 1. Adding Security Eyes Port #1 3. Type in Security Eyes 7000 TCP in the Name. 4. Type 7000 in the Port Number 5. Click the TCP button 2. Adding Security Eyes Port #2 7. Click on the Exceptions Tab 8. Click on the Add Port... Button 9. Type in Security Eyes 7000 UDP in the Name. 10. Type 7000 in the Port Number 11. Click the UDP button 12. Click OK to add the Port 3. Adding Security Eyes Port #3 13. Click on the Exceptions Tab 14. Click on the Add Port... Button 15. Type in Security Eyes 80 in the Name. 16. Type 80 in the Port Number 17. Click the TCP button 18. Click OK to add the Port 4. Double-Check your Settings 8

1. Once you have completed entering the 4 SkyView Ports above, your Exceptions window should look something like this. Your Windows Firewall is now configured to accept Remote Connections for the Security Eyes DVR Cards. *To finish configuring the Remote Connection for your PC, please view the appropriate Remote Connection Manual for that system. 9
