Belpstrasse 37 3030 Berne Biking your way through Switzerland Taking your bike with you on Postbuses Issued by Issue date Replace the issue from June 2015 April 2015 Planning on discovering Switzerland by bike? Here you will find important bicycle carry-on information for Postbuses. You are welcome to take your bicycle with you on Postbuses providing there is sufficient space available and you do not obstruct passengers from getting on or off the vehicle. The transport of electric bicycles on postbuses is limited. During the summer season, some Postbuses travelling in key tourist areas are equipped with bike racks at the back of the bus. Bicycles must be accompanied and loaded by their owners and have a valid ticket. Tickets / prices The Day Card for bikes and the annual bike pass (GA) from SBB and other transport providers are now valid for the entire PostBus network. Passengers do not need to buy an extra ticket to take their bicycles with them on Postbuses. GA, Half-Fare Card, Swiss Travel Normal rate System, children under 16 GA Annual bike pass CHF 220.00 CHF 220.00 (valid for 1 year, non-transferable) Day Card for bikes CHF 12.00 CHF 18.00 Multiple Day Card for bikes (6 days) CHF 72.00 - Local bike tickets ½ ticket 2 nd class 1/1 ticket 2 nd class Bike tickets and Day Cards for bikes can be purchased directly from the driver on the Postbus. Annual bike passes are also available from the PostBus sales points in Berne, Chur, Lugano, Grächen and Saas Fee, from public transport sales points or online at www.sbb.ch/ticketshop. For longer distances, we recommend you buy a Day Card for bikes. You can find more information at www.sbb.ch/velo or in the relevant timetable. Special prices Children with a Junior Card or Grandchild Card who are accompanied by their parents can take their bicycle, trailer bike or kickboard free of charge. Children and teenagers aged between 6 and 16 receive family discounts when they take their bicycles with them. If they hold a Junior/Grandchild Card or a GA-Plus Familia, PostBus carries children's and teenagers' bikes free of charge. For special bicycles (e.g. tandems, recumbent bicycles, tricycles), you pay double the fare. For trailers up to a maximum width of 60 cm, the same prices apply as for bicycles. Version X04.00 Issue date: April 2015 1 / 8

Some communities apply special tariffs. These tariffs can be checked on the respective Internet pages. Transport options In the cantons of Graubünden, Valais and Berne, special trailers or bike racks are available to transport bicycles. See the list below for more information. On other PostBus routes, the buses are not especially equipped to handle bicycle transport. Depending on available space, bicycles can also be placed inside the bus and/or in the luggage space. Passengers must not be inconvenienced, however; there must be enough space available for people in wheelchairs as well as for baby carriages. Please note: Folded bicycles and bicycles packed in transport bags count as hand luggage and are carried free of charge. The packing can be done with special transport covers, such as the TranZBag, which are available at the baggage drop-off points of selected train stations and at specialized bicycle and outdoor dealers. In addition to normal bicycles without motor, a maximum of two electric bicycles are accepted per each bike rack. Special bicycles (e.g. tandems, recumbent bicycles, tricycles) that do not fit in the normal racks or are longer than 2 m cannot be transported. This also applies to trailers that are wider than 60 cm. Scooters for adults are treated as accompanied, unpackaged bicycles and therefore require a ticket. Trottinetts für Erwachsene werden gleich behandelt wie begleitete, unverpackte Velos und sind somit kostenpflichtig. There is no guarantee of transportation. If a bicycle cannot be carried due to lack of capacity, it will be taken on the next Postbus trip. You generally load your bicycle onto the bus yourself and on your own responsibility. Post- Bus Switzerland Ltd is only liable for damages if the company is at fault. Reservations Advance reservation is recommended and is required for groups. Owing to limited capacity for bicycles per Postbus, groups of five persons or more wishing to take their bikes by bus should contact the PostBus office of the region in question. See the list below for the regional contact numbers for reservations, information and special offers or exceptions. PubliCar In most cases, there is very little space available for bicycles on PubliCar vehicles. Please discuss bicycle transport options when placing your order. All contact information can be found at www.postauto.ch/publicar Version X04.00 Issue date: April 2015 2 / 8
