Unitised curtain wall facade and rainscreen cladding. The main envelope installation was achieved without scaffolding by using a prefabricated and pre-glazed unitised form of construction. The bespoke curtain wall elements typically 3 m wide by 3.9 m high were manufactured off-site at our Head Quarters in Arnstorf, Germany and delivered to site by road. Large elements were lifted vertically from ground level to the floor where they were to be installed by using a Lifting Chimney system. They were then traversed horizontally on a mono-rail to their final installation position on the building. 4
Scope of works. Facade types and scope Design, manufacture and installation of bespoke cladding systems including: - 14,000 m 2 fully unitised curtain wall elements - Single glazed fins - Glass roof to atrium - Scenic lift shaft glazing - Glass balustrades to terraces - Photovoltaic louvre panels over roof top plant - Copings, soffits, cills - Main entrance area and doors 5
Unitised Facade to Offices The main envelope is comprised of prefabricated and pre-glazed curtain wall elements with a natural anodised finish. Intermediate transoms and a variety of fritted and clear glazing with insulated spandrels at the floor plates provides the distinctive chequered effect in the facade elevations. Low profile gaskets give the visual impression of silicon glazing but has the benefit of a mechanically retained glazing system. Projecting single glazed fins soften the outline of the building and create architectural interest. In the cut between the two main office blocks is a glazed roof over an atrium. As the roof of each building slopes up a series of stepped terraces are created with glazed walls and doors. 6

Double glazed units to the vision areas has a combined high performance solar control and low-e coating to give good thermal insulation and high solar shading yet with good light transmission. 7
Glazed fins. Single glazed fins are a major feature of the building. They are connected to the primary structure via thermal isolators and have low profile gaskets. Glazed fins typical elevation Feature glazed fins - section 8
